Of all the shows I've seen to the end, Monk is the only one I can think of whose ending provided closure and didn't feel rushed or jarring. Fringe looks like it's building up to a good end though.
Discuss shows that ended well, and feel free to post the ending if you can find it.
No clip, but the incredible closing song from Monk, by Randy Newman.

Corner Gas. They brought it to a close in a way I thought was very appropriate for a comedy series. The biggest thing being, it didn't leave a bad taste in your mouth.
-
Samurai Champloo had a really classy ending, I thought.

MASH, Scrubs.

Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy.

Season 2 ending of MLP.

The actress who played Trudy's daughter in the Monk finale, Alona Tal, voiced Kat in Halo: Reach. I just felt like sharing that.

By the time a show reaches a conclusion, its usually gone stale anyway.

they ended it with that special where they find out eddies brother is a huge jerk right?

I've never had the patience to watch an entire TV series, so no, I guess not.

The series was brilliant until the finale. The final episode wasn't on Netflix, so I paid $2 on Amazon to watch it, and was given a "derp, it was just a dream lololol they're literally on Mars" ending. Raged so hard.

I liked That 70s Show's finale. Last half-minute couldn't have ended better.

That IS an awful ending. Look up the original one on Youtube, it's one of the best endings ever IMO.

I came here to say monk but OP seems to have great taste in tv.
Posted by: Murcielago00 I liked That 70s Show's finale. Last half-minute couldn't have ended better.
That's true. It gave a true impression of characters moving on with their lives. They were no longer that group of teenagers huddled around a basement table smoking weed. They had careers, goals, ambitions. And to top it all off, the 70s ended. That 70s show: show of the year, all years. [Edited on 11.18.2012 2:05 PM PST]

I really enjoyed Battlestar Galactica's (rebooted series) finale.

Even the endings were nearly identical until Sam suddenly wakes up on a spaceship and it turns out the characters are crewmen. It was just a giant slap in the face. Just watched the ending...holy crap, is that the Master from Doctor Who? [Edited on 11.18.2012 2:10 PM PST]
