I just wrote a police officer a ticket

So today I saw a police officer parked in a yellow "no parking zone" But he wasn't responding to an emergency, He was at a 7-11 and he walked out with a big gulp. He was abusing his status as a police officer. And this is how I am about to knock him down a level for it. I live in Oregon. In Oregon it is a little known fact that you don't have to be a police officer, or a parking attendant to write someone a parking ticket. See ORS 153.058 Now back to the story. as the officer was coming out as soon as I saw that he was parked illegally I took a picture of him ( as he was coming out holding his big gulp, and of his car parked illegally. AND of him getting into his car. This is all of the evidence that I need to issue him a citation. I went on down to the police station and initiated the proceedings of filing the citation. Filled out his ticket, and took it down to the court house as per the instructions. At the courthouse I gave the nearly-finished ticket to the clerk who found an available court date. And then signed the ticket. And took an oath that the information was correct. This police officer is now going to receive the ticket in the mail with his court date. I will also be going to this court date where I will be presenting the photographic evidence of his illegal parking. He will have no excuse. tl;dr I wrote a police officer a ticket, and now he must appear in court. UPDATE: 500 replies w00t, I will be posting the pictures AFTER the court date. Due to legal/security reasons. [Edited on 11.18.2012 6:31 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: kikashi hatake Can't wait till someone mugs you and that police officer walks by and turns a blind eye. -blam!- yourself
This. The cops that go and kick homeless people and abuse their authority deserve -blam!- like this, but not a guy who was just buying something at 7-11 and leaving. OP is a -blam!-.
Wait, in what world do people get away with crimes by simply apologising. He would have probably done it again because he is a fat police officer and he needs his big gulp.
Nice
"Hey everyone, I'm sorry that I hit the woman with her baby while I was texting. I shouldn't have done that and I would like to apoligize. Can you just let me off with a warning?" Seems legit
Right, because manslaughter and parking in an area not marked as a parking spot are one and the same.

You are mostly just felling bias, because for some reason the thought of me sticking it to the man upsets you.

WHATS WRONG WITH YOU"
The thing is- correct me if I am wrong- this was on private property- which you have no lawful ability to write said ticket.
Nope. Like I said before the cop wasn't actually in the 7-11 parking lot. He was in the emergency lane in the street. Which gives me the ability to write him the ticket.

To many police officers abuse their power, I'd hate to say it, but probably only about 1/4 of the American police force actually follow the rules themselves.
That's complete bull-blam!- and shows a clear lack of knowledge regarding the police department. If you learned everything from community based websites, you would think every cop has shot a black teenager at some point in their career and the Republicans literally go house to house killing babies and screaming PRAISE JESUS.

 • I got a parking ticket for parking on campus outside of a building where I had been given permission to park by the administration, but the cops wrote me a ticket anyway. Then I left and saw them parked in the firelane when the entire student parking lot was empty.
