What do you think of metathreads?
The Community Forum is rife with them; it's hard to come here without seeing at least one or two on the front page, and at some times, many more than that. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes they're helpful, and sometimes they're just the latest round of whining on the topic du jour.
What is your opinion on these threads? Personally, I tend to think that people who post them are bored and looking for attention. But still, I like them.

Megathreads kind of suck because it is too easy for your post to get overlooked and never seen. However, for threads along the lines of "Post your game screenshots!" I think it's a perfect subject for megathreads. EDIT: What? METAthread? What is that? [Edited on 11.13.2012 1:49 AM PST]
