So there are three things that Ive decided I'm Willing to with my life (First option, a back up, and a back up for the back up, I find all three interesting) So after finding out that the first is not availible to me, due to my Aspergers syndrome, I have moved on to the back up which is Voice acting, I've heard this is a very hard buisness to break into and that it is very expensive to put together a demo reel, So I thought that I would come here, to see whether anybody with experience has any tips for me!

I'm going to bump this, because I posted it at the wrong time of the day to get advice from more than a few people (I'm GMT not PST)

Always could nominate yourself for some Indie work? You won't get paid, but it'll count for something.
Posted by: elsnben Don't worry, you just validated my point, I still have tons of work to do.
Before expecting to make it, make sure that you have someone with a reliable ear listen to your accents. They might sound right to you, but you're always speaking differently than you think.
Posted by: TheMouthOfSauron
Posted by: elsnben Well that could work, but I still have work too do on the voice's I have an English Accent and I can do Russian, Typical American, Mexican, German and Sterotypical African-American voices, and a few of voices that don't Come under anything,, I still need to work on more though if I want to be succesfull.
Not to sound like a negative dick or anything, but tons of people can do a fair amount of accents. Unless you can do character voices, or a ridiculous amount of exaggerated accents, it'll be extremely difficult to get into the field.
Don't worry, you just validated my point, I still have tons of work to do.

If you post demo reels on freelance voice acting sites then eventually someone will get in touch.

Posted by: elsnben
Posted by: SonOfTheShire You should do daily voice exercises and start looking for auditions. Also, what was the first thing?
I wanted to join the Royal Engineers, but the British army don't take people with autism, despite the fact that aspergers syndrome is the lowest form of high functioning autism.
That sucks, bro.

One thing I know for sure. You need to have balls to talk in the weirdest voice imaginable around other people and be completely serious about it. If you can do that. You're good.
