...Master Chief is fifteen/sixteen in Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.
That's really strange, when you think about it.

I was thinking about this too, and I found it kind of awkward (though I do realise that the Spartans are essentially twenty in terms of mentality and physique at this point in time IIRC).
-
Pretty much everything like this gets cleared up by either some kind of augmentation or some kind of technology, I'm thinking the first one in this case.

Next to nothing important happened those years and it wouldn't have to break any canon.
They're not breaking any canon. War started in 2525. Chief is already augmented, and gets his armor in that year. Lasky is more sympathetic not wanting to fight insurrectionists than not wanting to fight Covenant.
Yea, not to mention 2526 is the perfect year where the Covenant threat is still largely in secret to the general population and everyone thinks innies are still the main enemies. So yea 2525-2526 is the perfect era for this series that deals with first contact + the innie problem.

In the beginning of Halo me and ma bro (sense we played co-op) imagined he was 17 and 16 so...Not that strange IMO

-
John-117 and the other Spartans-IIs had gotten their augmentations and Mark IV armor less than a year prior to the events of Forward Unto Dawn. Dr. Halsey had artificially sped up their maturation before hand. They were fourteen-year-olds that looked like they were in their twenties.

He got his armor at around that time so it really doesn't matter. If you read First Strike for example he and his team knew what they were doing
