I just got a laptop and I heard something about don't shut off laptop on and off just leave it in sleep mode because it can mess up battery or harddrive I heard. So what's the best way to do if I'm off a couple of hours or when I go to bed?
-
Hold down the power button until you hear a kind of whirring noise. Failing that, manually and completely remove the battery.
-
use the shut down function. leaving it on sleep will kill the battery more. shutting it down will cause it no harm. unless you shut it down by holding the power/on button. this can seriously harm your computer. so turn it off using the 'shut down' function on the computer (via the start menu in windows). using sleep mode constantly will eventually wear out your battery.

Alright
Posted by: Spartan 891 Supposedly, don't press the button on the laptop, use the one on the UI instead (Start>Shutdown). Shut it down when you stop using it, save energy and stuff.
I've heard that putting it on hibernate is better than shutting it down and vice-versa. I personally just turn mine off.
-
Whack it with a sledgehammer.

Turn it off and save some money on that electric bill.
