Homemade energy sword replica
I've been working on this the past two weeks or so, and it's finally done after about 35 hours of work. It started out as a papercraft model, then I filled the inside with spray foam, coated the entire thing in resin, and then put a final coat of auto body filler on top of that. That was sanded down nice and smooth, painted, and finished with a slightly glossy sealer for protection and a little shine.
It's pretty lightweight (about 4 pounds) and extremely durable, too. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm pretty proud of how it came out. I had so much fun making this, and I definitely plan on doing more in the future.
Probably gonna put it up on eBay soon, wish me luck on selling it! :D

I read somewhere that having an eBay auction end on a Sunday evening will get you the most bids, so I waited to put it up until it would end then. I still have the reserve price set the same as on my Etsy, though...don't want to give it away for too little, and with the ridiculous fees eBay and Paypal charge, I'd be making even less than if someone were to buy it on Etsy. But I had no idea what to expect from it, I'd rather risk scaring people off than giving it away for $50.

I just noticed something, none of the pictures show you actually gripping the sword's handle. Is it too big for a human hand? Did you get really hardcore detailed and make it for an Elite's hand?

I didn't purposefully make it for an elite's hand, but the pattern I used was that size, so it turned out bigger than expected. I'm hoping I get the right buyer, but if I don't I can always offer it to the highest bidder! Well that was a total failure. $91 and free shipping? I thought the free shipping would draw more attention. Ah well, may try again soon. Odd, I definitely placed multiple bids waaayyyy higher than $91. I guess it only says $91 to not let the other bidders know how high the reserve price really is, but I don't know why [b]you[/b] can't see the real amount I had bid on the sword.
