The Flood 3!

The Aftermath. Colonel Corbec had flown the Piggy Fool Helicopter all the way from the ruins of Money Marine mountain to the CPO Fraser Helicopter hire Station. He bypassed it and landed the magnificent Helicopter in a Forest Clearing nearby under the red, evening sun. But he didn’t land it so close that nearby that it would attract unwanted attention. He carefully made sure he had left no evidence behind that would link him to the chopper. Then, taking the still sleeping maid away, he went to the tree-line and prepared his Spas 12. He tucked it into his shoulder and aimed for the external fuel tank. Firing once, the entire Helicopter exploded into a bright ball of licking flame and sizzling metal. The maid still snored. Corbec scooped the girl up. He’d destroyed one more piece of evidence against him, now all he had to do was eliminate the people that had seen him in the rental station. The Receptionist was just working over the rental lists, ready to send a fine to DDR Master when the automatic door opened with a soft hum. She looked up in time to see a man in the doorway, back dropped with the sun behind him. “Can I help you?” She asked, confused. “Not really.” He said, the mask on his face making his voice sound metallic and strange. The man revealed a shotgun, and the receptionist screamed. Bam! She flew backwards as if hit by a car, and smacked into the wall, leaving a bloody trail as she slipped down the wall. Corbec picked up the waitress again, and brought her inside. Carefully, he set her down next to the dead receptionist. Then, he searched the computer. He released another virus to delete any evidence he ever took out a Helicopter and replace it with another person. Echo 360 now had a massive fine to pay up. He then went through the security cameras and deleted the footage that showed him walk in and hire a Chopper, and the incident just now. Now all he had to do was kill off the salesman, the one other person who’d seen him here. “Barbara?” Someone asked from around the corner, and the salesman walked into view. He saw the masked man with the gun and turned to run. Bam! He slammed into a wall and collapsed into a pool of his own blood. “Job done.” He said without a hint of regret and carried the still sleeping girl out to his TT, parked in the garage. He loaded her into the passenger seat and got into the right hand side of the car. He tapped the car in appreciation. It was like coming home. The silent Maid slept through the entire journey to Corbec’s Mediterbungian Home, giving Corbec time to think about what to do with her. He decided he would burn that bridge when he got home. Eventually, by the time the sun had sunk beneath the horizon, Corbec reached his home. With exhausted arms, he hefted the almost vegetable-like Maid into the house. He took her upstairs and set her down in the bed, tucking her under the Egyptian cotton sheets. “Now where the hell am I going to sleep?” Corbec said to himself, walking out of the one bedroom in the house and down the stairs. He decided to take the sofa in the living room. He removed the armour and hid it away in a closet. He was still thinking about what to do with the girl when he fell asleep. Pyroshark forced his eyes to open. There was a blinding light all around him. Where was he? Why was he here? He remembered a searing pain, Ninjas, bullets, screaming and blood. The Queen! He tried to get up and find her, but the pain was too intense. “Be still.” Said a strange voice. Pyroshark settled back down, unable to see past the light. “Who are you?” Pyroshark wheezed. The light receded, revealing a white metal ceiling. “We,” said a man leaning over to see him, “are the Grizzled Ancients.”

 • Hmm... Why has Pezza gone evil? I thought for sure there was one good Ninja in the world. *is sad* Ah well, good chapter. I'm getting pretty ticked off at Lady Die; I hope my mysterious Special Forces-like skills kick in, so I can show her exactly who she's messing with! lol Good job Corbec! Good luck with your essay.

 • I hate essays... I've said this before, but I had to write a 500 word essay on why I should do my top-button up during school time... I had nothing to write about... and when I handed it in, my teacher was like "oh, it has a title..." he probably didn't even read it

 • Unless you're a girl, please desist. I would appreciate it if a Mod didn't come along and Ban this story for going off topic. I mean, they must already hate the series, seeing as I killed all but one of them.

 • The Chase. “You what?” He said. “You’re alive, wake up!” It urged, something nudging him in the arm. “Who?” He said, sitting up and wincing as he registered the pain in his chest. “Corbec, stay awake. Sally was taken away. I know where she is. Here, this ought to wake you up.” Said the voice, producing a needle and jabbing it into his forearm. Suddenly, his world was awash with noise and light. “Bloody Hell! What was that?” He exclaimed standing up in a flash. “Do you know who you are?” The man with the needle asked. “Colonel Corbec, you’re Pezza. Where’s Sally?” He said, quickly grabbing his weaponry from where it had fallen and checking the safety was off. “It was an Adrenal Stimulant. Your Heart and Adrenal gland are now operating far above the usual level.” Pezza explained. He was clad in civilian clothes, but had a gun in his weapon belt around his waist. “OK, OK. Where’s Sally, what’s going on?” He said extremely fast, a by product of the Stimulant. As Corbec spoke, his head jolted around, looking from one place to the next. He was in the forest where he had been shot, the sky was as black as soot. Combining the darkness and dead trees all around, the environment had a nightmarish feel to it all. Guns thundered in the distance, and the only light came from the flames of the city, casting everything in an orange glow. “I have a map and compass for you. The Undergroundican Special Forces are taking Sally away to Flood Lin. They plan to send her across the river and to mainland Undergroundica. Currently, Undergroundica has crossed the river and is working it’s way into Flood Lin. You have to move now. Sally is about half an hour ahead of you, and it takes around an hour and a half to get to Flood Lin on foot. The map is marked with where they intend to hold Sally before they move her northwards.” Pezza explained. “OK, thanks.” Corbec said, checked his compass and started jogging at high speed in the direction of Flood Lin. “The tracker is planted. He’s moving in after you, are you already there?” Pezza asked into the concealed radio uplink once Corbec was far enough away. “Yes, we see him, he’s quite fast.” Said the person on the other end. “Isn’t he just? Be warned though, he’s armed.” Pezza said. “I hear you, and we’re just about to begin the broadcast now.” Lady Die said into the radio to Pezza, looking at the screen nearby. It showed Corbec’s proximity to her position, which Pezza had been instructed to give to Corbec. “Get your car then move over here quick, you wouldn’t want to miss this, would you?” Lady Die said, closing off the radio. Massaging the bandage on her hand, she went to the chair in the middle of the room, and the woman bound to it. “Would we, little miss royal whore?” She said, grabbing the girl by her hair and lifting up her bruised, Blind-folded face. The demolitions expert, a member of a 2000-strong detachment from the Undergroundican Army followed the wire. With the light on his helmet, he checked each stretch of detonation cord for any break or cut. It was a boring job, but away from all the bullets and killing. “I found it!” He announced into his radio, getting some more Cord and a cutter. “Call for help.” Said a voice behind him. “What?” He asked, bemused. “Do it now.” The speaker repeated firmly, prodding something metal against the back of his neck. “Help! Help!” He cried, getting up to run. He barely got two steps before his entire body mass was converted to water. “So that’s what it does on real people.” Pyroshark said, nodding in admiration of the Terra Former. [Edited on 9/8/2006]

 • The Landing. Corporal CPO Fraser coughed harshly. If the enemy didn’t kill him first, the dust-laden air would. The Steve Irwin Heavy Infantry Division had taken up a stretch of land on the North Western corner of Flood Lin. His squad was holed up in the Heart Ford Turbine Factory. It had been the victim of sustained enemy bombardment from both the air and sky, but the enemy were now convinced that the Factory was out of operation, and moved their bombardment elsewhere in the city. The wreck was full of ash and molten metal of the equipment that was once used here. Behind it, the five-storey Flood& Flood Department Store was ablaze, sending shafts of flickering, orange light through the holes in the corrugated iron roof. He toyed with the keys to his first Helicopter that he kept on a chain around his neck. The first Helicopter he owned, every other one his company owned and every mechanic who worked on them had been requisitioned into the Army for the war effort. And somehow, he had been requisitioned as well. Sergeant Flaming Idiot walked over. They were both standing on a gantry overlooking the wreck of the factory. “Allz qui3t on t3h w3ztern fr0nt tehnzorz?1/???!zorzlol!?” He garbled away in his East country accent. “You know I don’t understand you, right?” CPO asked. “i d0n’t understehnd youzorzrofllol. N00b.2” CPO sighed. He couldn’t believe an entire squad had been put under the command of this moron. He got up and walked the eastern wall of the factory. Looking out the murky, broken window, he could see a company (12) of Cookie Ninja light tanks in the Car Park. The crewmen sat around smoking and laughing. Walking back to the Northern wall, he got out a small, pocket-size telescope and trained it on the enemy lines. It was only midday, but the concentration of smoke and low-lying clouds above blocked out all sunlight. It had been this way for quite a while now. As such, both sides operated a Blackout policy to avoid air strikes. But even that couldn’t avoid random incendiary bombardment. On both sides, Incendiary shells dotted the lines, marking up enemy positions and smudging the cloud layer with orange and red. Through his telescope he saw darkness, the occasional fire, but nothing more. “N0th1ngxzxzz!?!? Kewl!” Sergeant Idiot rambled, mangling the Floodian language beyond comprehension. “I don’t underst-” CPO started, before the shelling began. If anyone were to observe it from above, they could see dots of flame sprouting from the Undegroundican Gun Nests all along the river banks near to the city. Howitzers, troop-carried mortars, long-range pieces and The Marathon belched flame and death into the sky. Along the banks of the river, hundreds of landing craft set off from hidden positions under the cover of darkness and the bombardment. Helicopters whined off platforms and turned to face the embattled city. Gun-ships, transports, all rose and flew towards the city. Above, Undergroundican jets screamed in and released payloads of explosive death. Sporadic blasts of gunfire answered the air attack, flak stitching the sky. “Oh noes! T3h b4dguyzorz!11!!?!!!!” Flaming Idiot turned to run, but was stopped as a shell penetrated the corrugated steel roof, connected with him and propelled him off the gantry. The shell flew onwards and exploded near to a couple of soldiers, all three were vaporised in an instant. Swearing, CPO Fraser ran for the stairwell. Halfway there, a shell hit the Flood & Flood Blaze. The entire weakened structure collapsed on itself, and a mass of superheated gas, brick and debris smashed through the Southern wall of the factory. Men were picked up and thrown alongside machinery like they were toys. The smoke from the recent explosion had CPO choke and cover his mouth and eyes. He finally found the stairs amongst the smoke, and proceeded to fall down them. Struggling, he got up again, and carried on going. Having made it down the stairs, he stumbled over to the Administrator office, where the Heavy Machine Gun Nest was. He came through the open door, and coughed loudly. The man at the machinegun was blazing away down the bank of the river, with the Ammo-Loader quickly loading up fresh belts of ammunition. Down the bank, amphibious vehicles opened up their ramps and spewed forth hundreds of thousands of Undergroundican soldiers. Enemy tanks capable of making amphibious journeys emerged onto the beach, shooting at Floodian positions on the city outskirts. CPO gasped when the man at the tripod-mounted machine gun toppled backwards from the sandbag position, his face a bloody crater. “Take the gun!” The loader shouted at him, urging him to try and stop the oncoming wave of soldiers. CPO stumbled over the dead gunner’s corpse and took the controls. Through the broken window, he began to riddle the charging mass of enemy with high-velocity .30 cal rounds. “Corbec.” Said a voice. “Corbec.” It repeated. “You’re alive.” [Edited on 9/22/2006]
