The Aftermath.
Colonel Corbec had flown the Piggy Fool Helicopter all the way from the ruins of Money Marine mountain to the CPO Fraser Helicopter hire Station. He bypassed it and landed the magnificent Helicopter in a Forest Clearing nearby under the red, evening sun. But he didn’t land it so close that nearby that it would attract unwanted attention. He carefully made sure he had left no evidence behind that would link him to the chopper. Then, taking the still sleeping maid away, he went to the tree-line and prepared his Spas 12. He tucked it into his shoulder and aimed for the external fuel tank. Firing once, the entire Helicopter exploded into a bright ball of licking flame and sizzling metal. The maid still snored. Corbec scooped the girl up. He’d destroyed one more piece of evidence against him, now all he had to do was eliminate the people that had seen him in the rental station.
The Receptionist was just working over the rental lists, ready to send a fine to DDR Master when the automatic door opened with a soft hum. She looked up in time to see a man in the doorway, back dropped with the sun behind him.
“Can I help you?” She asked, confused.
“Not really.” He said, the mask on his face making his voice sound metallic and strange. The man revealed a shotgun, and the receptionist screamed.
Bam!
She flew backwards as if hit by a car, and smacked into the wall, leaving a bloody trail as she slipped down the wall.
Corbec picked up the waitress again, and brought her inside. Carefully, he set her down next to the dead receptionist. Then, he searched the computer. He released another virus to delete any evidence he ever took out a Helicopter and replace it with another person. Echo 360 now had a massive fine to pay up. He then went through the security cameras and deleted the footage that showed him walk in and hire a Chopper, and the incident just now. Now all he had to do was kill off the salesman, the one other person who’d seen him here.
“Barbara?” Someone asked from around the corner, and the salesman walked into view. He saw the masked man with the gun and turned to run.
Bam!
He slammed into a wall and collapsed into a pool of his own blood.
“Job done.” He said without a hint of regret and carried the still sleeping girl out to his TT, parked in the garage. He loaded her into the passenger seat and got into the right hand side of the car. He tapped the car in appreciation. It was like coming home. The silent Maid slept through the entire journey to Corbec’s Mediterbungian Home, giving Corbec time to think about what to do with her. He decided he would burn that bridge when he got home.
Eventually, by the time the sun had sunk beneath the horizon, Corbec reached his home. With exhausted arms, he hefted the almost vegetable-like Maid into the house. He took her upstairs and set her down in the bed, tucking her under the Egyptian cotton sheets.
“Now where the hell am I going to sleep?” Corbec said to himself, walking out of the one bedroom in the house and down the stairs. He decided to take the sofa in the living room. He removed the armour and hid it away in a closet. He was still thinking about what to do with the girl when he fell asleep.
Pyroshark forced his eyes to open. There was a blinding light all around him. Where was he? Why was he here? He remembered a searing pain, Ninjas, bullets, screaming and blood. The Queen! He tried to get up and find her, but the pain was too intense.
“Be still.” Said a strange voice.
Pyroshark settled back down, unable to see past the light.
“Who are you?” Pyroshark wheezed.
The light receded, revealing a white metal ceiling.
“We,” said a man leaning over to see him, “are the Grizzled Ancients.”

I'll see if I can get some bits done today.

The Discovery Pyroshark slowly opened his eyes. He vaguely recalled being shot somewhere or the other, and plenty of blood. His blood. He scrunched up his eyelids and rubbed his face. He moved his hand lower and felt his torso. He checked and double checked, then looked for himself. There were no gaping entry wounds, no crater-like holes in him. Then why did he so vividly remember being shot? He checked himself over, his equipment was missing, but most notable was the absence of more holes in him than he was supposed to have evolved. “About time you woke up.” Said someone. Pyroshark jumped at the noise. Looking around, he could see he was on a operating table in an operating theatre. The room was sparse and empty but for a few things. The high powered lights in the ceiling illuminated a strange, pod shaped machine in one part of the spherical chamber. It was largely metallic with a single, large glass bubble around the front section. Pyroshark carried on looking around. The room was entirely white, with the roof leading into a concrete dome above him. “Ahem.” The same voice coughed, getting Pyroshark’s attention. “Lehto? What are you doing? Why am I alive? Where is everyone else?” Pyroshark said, turning around to face Lehto #137. The man stood in front of a wooden desk, upon which sat a computer and a handgun. “Why are you alive? Well, allow me to explain. You were shot three times in the torso by high velocity rifle rounds. We extracted them from Pyroshark, but were unfortunately unable to do anything about the catastrophic blood loss. Pyroshark, I am afraid, is dead.” Corbec strolled out from behind the building as though nothing had ever happened. During the time that he had taken the pilot’s uniform, he had discovered how he had survived the bullet that the woman-who now threatened Sally’s life-hadn’t killed him. The Kevlar vest he had been wearing had stopped the bullet short of his easily penetrated flesh. The deformed slug had been lodged in his vest. Taking it for a memento, he stuffed it into the pocket of his new trousers. “Hey! Move it!” One of the other pilots yelled to him from the side of his Mech, shaking his head at his comrade, the pilot clambered into his vehicle and brought it into life. The tall machines were black as night, but marked with red lines at random points, presumably to designate the number of kills for each pilot. Corbec picked up speed, and found what he guessed to be his machine. He climbed up the side of the metal giant and entered what seemed to be the cockpit. Two large, heavy pieces of metal slid along to meet one another and clang shut behind him. In the darkness, he tried to make sense of things. It seemed that he was supposed to secure his legs to that of the vehicle. Fumbling around, he attached powerfully strong buckles around his leg. In the gloom, he kept feeling around until he managed to get his hands around two control sticks, one to each side of him. Suddenly, there was a hum, and glass screens sprang into life around him, displaying the world outside and illuminating the interior. The main screen, over the entrance, slid down into place, with two screens, each displaying the right and left sides independently, and one smaller one beneath the main screen showing the rear view. “Welcome to the Mech Warrior Mark 20.” A voice blared. Suddenly, a man appeared on the screen, with the Undergroundican symbol displayed proudly behind him. “Don’t I know this guy…” Corbec trailed off. “My name is Mech Warrior20, and I proudly present the latest and greatest in our fine country’s engineering. The Mech Warrior Mark 20-” “You Bastard! You absolute Bastard!” Corbec shouted. Mech Warrior20 had been a prominent Floodian expert in engineering, but had disappeared a few months before Corbec had come to the throne. And now Corbec understood where the treasonous hack had fled to. Desperate to get out of the retarded recording, Corbec looked around for something to stop it. Quickly, he came across a button marked “Screen wipe.” He hit it, and the recording of the traitorous mechanic dissolved. “Forwards! Hit the enemy at the Dual Carriageway!” someone garbled over the radio, static making it half impossible to understand. Looking around at the view screens, Corbec could see dozens of infantry milling around the feet of the lumbering, armoured behemoths. Corbec experimented with the control sticks, twirling the chain guns before the cameras feeding him images. He took his first step, joining the advance with the rest of the enemy forces. They weren’t going to know what hit them…

Hmmm. Alright.

OH, lol, I'm being sincere. Yeah, text makes vocal inflections just a tad impossible to reproduce.

Hmmm. I can't tell if you're being sincere or just being sarcastic. It's tough to tell via text alone.

"I got crshed by Money Marine mountain in The Flood 2, remember? " No, you didn't. See, as I explained in the story, the Seventh Column got you out of there just in time, but they cloned you a new arm to replace the one Shiska shot to pieces. Nah, I was adding up everything that's happened so far across the three stories. I got crshed by Money Marine mountain in The Flood 2, remember? Again, I'm curious as to why you must cause so much bodily harm unto my person. =( Oh, and I just thought I'd point out that you had the 200th post. Huzzah! -Pyroshark-
Posted by: Pyroshark Great as ever, Corbec, but I'd like to point out that since The Flood 1 I have been shot several times, thrown into the Sun, blown up at least once, attacked by insane demonic people, hit by a Ninja shuriken, thrown high-speed from a car bonnet, crushed by a mountain... I think I've made my point. =) Don't rush yourself on writing this. I'm sure I speak for everyone reading when I say that a well thought-out and carefully written peice of writing is far more important than frequent updates. I forgot about that! well, It is in another universe to the one I'm writing now, so I didn't count it into the equation. But I don't remember you getting crushed by a mountain.

The Announcement. “We’re going live in five, four, three, two and action!” The Cameraman said expectantly. “Enemies of Undergroundica, hear me now. We have captured something very valuable to you. Sally Sabar, mistress to your King is in capable hands.” Lady Die announced in an imperious voice, standing to one side so the camera could see the broken woman, head hung low. Lady Die didn’t look away from the camera as a man walked in briefly silhouetted by light from outside the room, Pezza entered, and closed the door quietly behind him. “We will execute her in twelve hours if our demands are not met.” She drew a pistol and slapped a clip into it. As if to highlight her last sentence, she pointed the weapon at Sally’s head. “And with every hour, we will cut a digit off of her. Our demand is not met.” She paused. “The complete and unconditional surrender of Flood Land to the mighty nation of Undergroundica. If you do not surrender after a twenty four hour period, we will take a drastic step forward.” The Cameraman made deft hand gestures, and a light on the Camera turned from green to red. “Good job.” Pezza said, walking over to shake Lady Die’s hand, knowing the Camera had been deactivated. “Which one should we cut off first?” Lady Die said, shaking Pezza’s hand. She turned and crouched next to the humiliated woman. “You choose.” Pezza said, handing Lady Die a scalpel. Sally Sabar gritted her teeth. This Lady Die cow would regret she had ever been born. She didn’t listen to the cackling laughter of Lady Die and the man she so obviously intended to use as a puppet as they pretended to cut a toe off, making grandiose exaggerations as to how much it would hurt. It’ll be nothing compared to what I’ll do to you, whore. She thought to herself, locking her eyes onto the woman through the curtain of her greasy, ragged hair. Carefully and quietly, she carried on using her nails on the rope that restrained her, the long, sharp protrusions cutting it a little bit more. And with every second, it got a little thinner, a little weaker. I’ll get you. Corbec had finally managed to drop the heights of the rubble mountain. Dislodging loose pebbles and small rocks, he came to a stop. He kept low, winding his way towards a scorched block of flats. He stopped, and got his back to the wall. Stopping for a moment, he could hear voices from inside. He peeked through the boarded up window. He was looking at a wide screen TV. The Mech pilots were gathered around it with their superior. They sat on chairs, watching the screen in rapt attention. In one corner was a snarling eagle, branded with a Septagon on it’s chest-the Undergroundican symbol. At the bottom of the screen, speeding lines of writing sped by, informing viewers of recent developments. But what caught Corbec’s eye was the images on the screen. He had arrived in time to see Lady Die’s speech. In horror, he could see the subhuman excuse for life raise a pistol to Sally’s head, and make outlandish demands. No-one raised a weapon to her. No-one at all. He sat through the speech until the pilot group’s superior stood up at the end and had the pilots move out. Corbec ducked back down, and realised his hand was in a tight fist. As he slowly opened it, the bleached knuckles eased, and the tendons creaked. He looked at his palm, he’d dug bloody grooves into it with his nails. “I’ll just be a moment, see you out there.” The pilot said to his companions, jogging behind the corner. He didn’t even get time to scream. As a trio of jet black helicopters roared above, Corbec placed a silenced bullet between the pilot’s eyes. Corbec dragged the corpse into the shadows. Moments later, the pilot emerged from behind the corner, mask down, his kit in perfect condition. Revenge was coming. CPO looked up the orange-cast sky. Below the clouds, three Helicopters circled like vultures above him. “What are they up to?” He said, not noticing Tinos doing the same, walking over. “Floodians! Give up now! We have your Queen in chains. Surrender now! Your struggles are useless and unappreciated by your heartless monarchs! Give in now and you will be well treated!” Boomed a Megaphone announcement, a man clearly leaning out of the side of a helicopter. Sporadic machine gun fire replied his call, though nothing hit. Every effective AA weapon in this sector was either out of ammo or broken. “Don’t listen!” CPO shouted, not needing to worry about the deaf people in his unit. The helicopters, black as night with red stripes, descended. “Incoming!” Tinos yelled. She had a knack for explosives, having helped set the mines that had been of devastating use beforehand. But that was useless in the face of air superiority. They dived off the street and waited for the salvo of rockets or bullets, but nothing came. CPO glanced out to see through swirling clouds of dust kicked up by spinning rotor blades that the helicopters were dropping of an entirely different payload. Undergroundicans on rappel lines dropped from the sides of their fliers, gun flashes illuminating the undersides of their choppers. The flying machines lifted off amidst the sound of gunfire, and CPO sighed. This would be a long day.
