Covenant Sniper Projectiles
What does everybody see the new Covenant sniper rifle firing?
The obvious plasma i cant see happening, it would be just too slow and snipers need to impact almost instantly. I cant see energy being capable of that kind of acceleration.
Throw in any suggestions no matter how far fetched or similar to other games they might be.

Yes, I would have to say when making the Covie Sniper Rifle, they would be better using a Needle and not Plasma. Personally, I'm not too bothered about a Sniper Rifle. If Bungie decide to make the X03 gun into a Mid-Long range gun then that will be hard enough to deal with, especially if it packs a good punch.

Plasma, though i think it'll have to charge up like the overcharge on the orginal Plasma Pistol.

I think the covenant sniper rifle will be like a super intense single needle shot like a non rapid firing suped up needler. The trail it makes will be like the human equivilant so its traceable.

i hope we get a laser designator in halo 2 lol that way when i get board one day i can go around and designate the elites face for a bombing run

Did it come across as a complaint? Wasnt meant that way, just speculation. I was thinking something along the lines of a rail driver from Red Faction (with or without the x-ray bit) or maybe a giant needle but I suppose plasma would be possible wouldnt it. Thats not to say it definately will be plasma. Theyve been pretty creative with the weapons at Bungie so far.

alright the fact of the matter is that plasma is super heated gas, very very hot, alright so if this "air" is hotter than that of the air around it, it wouldn't matter what you think would happen that fact is that it qwould cut through air like butter, thusno friction, and having no friction means its just a matter of force in the right direction, soooooooooooooooo all the covenant would have to do is make the plasma thinner i guess, and force it out the weapon faster and thats it so ya there really is no problem with a plasma sniper rifle and why would you complain in the first place? i mean wouldn't you want one too?

If the plasma trails are even the new sniper ones it might leave behind a trail, like the human sniper rifle it hits instantly but leaves a slip stream trail.
