Only 150 Bags left?

My friend is telling me that there were some people on one of the main forums earlier who claimed they figured out how many bags were sold using some method through Amazon. Using the method, they found out that 350 bags were sold before it got closed. Is this true? EDIT: So I found out the method used to ascertain just how many bags were left was simply 'Buy 501 bags, get the following error message from Amazon: "We're sorry, but there are only X amount left of this item" [Edited on 06.25.2011 5:20 AM PDT]

 • Nah, I don't need a bag of meaningless objects to prove I'm a Bungie fan. I'll just sit tight and wait for the news on aerospace. I've accepted that I'm not going to get a swag bag....EVER! But I love Bungie and their games. So as long as they keep on making games, I'll be happy :)
It is sad becuase many more people could of gotten swag bags if some people didn't buy like 6 bags.
It is really sad :/ But hey SPARTAN 32192 you never know man theres still some to be had just camp out like everyday from sunday mate :D

When you buy a swag sack, it shows how many are left. near the end, people said it was in the low 200's-150+. It is "estimated" 350 sacks were sold on the 23rd. And, Bungie CONFIRMED there are 500 swag sacks, they aren't making more, they are selling out the rest of the sacks.
Yea i know they said they only have 500, but what i wanna know is where the heck did you get that they solled 350 almost like a precise number it was never confirmed how can you be so sure? and my question as i asked was how would it make sense putting the hole lot on day one and suppose to make that many last untill the 7th?? its impossible even if they didnt expect that many sales.
It is probably greater or lower than 150, it has been the number I keep hearing. But, I am sure it is around that, 150 is an estimate. But, I thought the swag bags would last a few days, not 1 hour. It was amazing and there were many people waiting, watching. But, I liked getting the swag sacks earlier than the 7th becuase it is nice to get the sack during Bungie week.
Ah, 150 makes alot of sense actaully lol yea i wont be getting mine till after bungie day D: sucks being in the uk sometiems XD oh well least i got one i wounder how many of them sales where people buying like more then one >.>

Do you know how un-organized this is sounding....
Yes, Bungie has many fans and they didn't expect the swag bags to sell out that fast. But, they said there are only 500 in existence so they aren't making more, they are finishing what they had left. Which is an estimated 150 swag sacks. There are thousands and thousands of fans wanting to buy a swag sack so they WEILL be gone even faster now.
Question where are you getting all your information from?

Its suppose to last over a 2 week period how is 500 going to last this long over 2 weeks? id think 250 in 1 week at a time makes alot more sense selling 350 in the first day doesn't make any sense as a customer and differently does not make sense as a good sales move at all... Do as someone mentioned on here about there being more i could see it happening...... look at the halo reach legendary edition that was suppose to be like what a couple thousand units only? And there still selling it..... But again 350 in one day doesn't make sense at all.
Bungie only made 500 swag sacks and they didn't expect them to sell out so fast so they cut out sales at like 350. •
Posted by: WinterSnowblind 350 is a complete guess. We don't know how many were sold. But they ran out fast before and are likely to go even faster when they do go back up.
They will probably gone within 5 minutes. You see, they were gone fast when barely anyone knew, so imagine when EVERYONE knows, with an even lower supply.

I could understand 3,000 or maybe even 1,000; but 500 is ridiculous. For instance, Microsoft earned $200 million from Halo: Reach on the first day. If you do the math, that comes out to about 3 million copies were sold on the first day. 3,000,000/500=6000 Or about 1 out of every 6,000 of their fans will be getting Swag Bags. Heck, with those odds I'm more likely to win a local lottery than I am to get a swag bag.
While I doubt all 3 million would pay the $40+ for the bag, you do have a valid point. In a way I wish Bungie had produced a little more bags to keep the community happy, but in a way I wish they kept them very limited the way they did.
But the cool thing about making less is that Bungie has more room to fill more bags with more valuable items than if they made thousands of bags.
You're right, that is one big plus for those who managed to swag.
lets hope the two of use manage to grab one

 • I'm starting to think Bungie shouldn't have charged $30 for these, maybe it should have been a blind auction or something. Everyone says how much they're willing to pay, the highest $500 bids get a bag and the money goes to charity.

 •
Posted by: YahwehFreak4evr 500? That's a ridiculously low number.
Perhaps, but think about it: The listing for the swag bag specifically said "Limited Edition Run of 500" And it was pulled about an hour after going up for sale. 350 bags sounds like a reasonable amount that could be sold within that time frame. Furthermore, they aren't going to put them back for sale until next week, further proof that they want to elongate the time before they run out of stock for good.
