Covies have energy shields, Starfleet has metaphasic shields which are many, many times more powerful. Starfleet has Sovereign, Galaxy and Defiant class ships, all carrying enough firepower to not only glass a planet, but crack it in two. Nuclear missiles would do nothing, hell, even the original Enterprise shrugged off one or two of those, not to mention most of the ships in startrek have been through a black-hole, back in time, forward in time, caught in super-novas and a whole array of crap that would have blown a UNSC frigate sky-high. MAC? It would bounce off the shields like a rubberball and the Longsword's would be swatted like flies by the 10+ banks of phasers. I'd say one torpedo and the fight is over, failing that, we could just call in the Klingons, or the Vulcans or even the Q. . . If he felt like it.
