Account priority question

I've been a long time player of D2 since the PC launch and a short while back I picked up a cheep PS4, Destiny limited edition as well, and my friend bought me Destiny 1 on PSN, so I could see how it all started through to the SIVA crisis, so I linked it to my Bungie account so I could use DIM etc. Ever since then the PSN seems to appear as the dominant account everywhere despite the fact it's the account I use, have used or will use the least and will not be playing D2 on it ever. Is there any way to force the Steam account to take priority, I realise this won't effect logging into the website et all, as I've noticed since I linked that account people can no longer join to my account name in D2 nor find me in the in-game look up tool, apparently I just don't exist. I can join to people but no one can use my join code. I have checked my Bungie Account name on the site and in game and they still match my original name so there's been no change there, however my PSN is slightly different. I also don't want to set up cross save if I can avoid it because being PC player I don't want to set it up as I'm never going to play on any other platform, I'd also prefer to not have to unlink my PSN so I can still use the API for D1.

  • I'm going to post an update on this since I've now managed to resolve this issue. Mainly because it was stopping me even using the "previous season" claims on the website for Destiny 2 so I could pull some exotics engrams from it for Rahol. It would tell me to "Play Destiny 2" and wouldn't even show the account switch option for PSN > Steam. Only then would both the account switching option appear but the ability to change the character to pull to. I HAD to set up Cross-Save with my Steam account as my main account, despite not having Destiny 2 on Playstation since this was effecting all Destiny services, I couldn't even get my clan mates to join into my fireteam during TFS launch, it would never show me online and I didn't exist in a search with fireteam requests failing. It worked joining them. This should never have been an issue, you shouldn't need to set up Cross-Save when a platform doesn't have the game licence just to solve an issue with a game that isn't available on another platform. It's dumb. Adding Destiny should not overwrite the primary account for Destiny 2 and set it to the Playstation account.
