Gaming Traditions

I dunno. I got a lot with my friends, such as dropping everything we're playing from 7-8 and playing Ewok Hunt on Battlefront II because it's "Ewok Hour." We'll also name our Minecraft Worlds incredibly strangely (examples include "Desmond Thiccaxe," "Let the big Dawgs eat," "Batteries need to get charged," and "Froggo boggo." In the Minecraft vein, we mine the wood from trees and replace it with furnaces. We erect these furnace trees as sort of religious symbols, an offering to the great furnace if you will. And of course, we always kill the same guy's horse with a bow and give each other Pufferfish renamed to "Drugs." Share gaming traditions here.

    • It’s a long standing tradition in gaming to tbag the opposing team after winning.

      • When me and my friends 5-stack in Overwatch 2 we'll usually just play our mains and try to win, but sometimes when we get a little silly. One person goes bastion, one goes mercy, one goes ana, and one goes zarya. The other dps does whatever, maybe Genji? Basically the bastion is being damage boosted, has access to nano, and can be bubbled. So bastion is getting a perma-pocket and he racks up a lot of damage. It doesn't work all the time, but it's funny when it works. When my friends are over for smash bros and we're going against Albert, (not his real name) we like to call out "Albert special" when Albert does one of his signature moves. (He plays greninja) These usually include dash attacking after a projectile, an up-air follow up attempt after a dash, a d-air whenever he is above you, (it's very hard to punish) and an up-smash at every opportunity. Breathing heavily into your microphone, w/ it positioned as close as possible to your mouth.
playing Ewok Hunt on Battlefront II because it's "Ewok Hour."
Not a tradition, but I use to slaughter Gungun's on the Naboo Palace Hunt mode with my son's in droves. We made JarJar and his kind PAY. Still not enough.... Story time with Cobra The only traditions I can really think of were with my clan from here. During the Halo 3 era where our clan OWNED Standoff in BTB. It was our map, and we defied anyone who dared meet us on it. Everyone had their set role and weapon to acquire and control at it's spawns. Tradition wise though we had a couple of rules, which were to happen right at the beginning of the match. 1) "Make it RAIN" When the game started, everyone immediately came out of the bunker aimed a grenade at the enemy side's Warthog, and launched the barrage. More often than not it was destroyed, and maybe took a couple of them with it, even before they could get in it. 2) "NO JUMPING" which was a direct result of playing with new clan members in this same scenario. We had a guy that would come out and jump while throwing his grenade, and consequently one or more of the team throwing their grenades behind him, hit him while he was airborne, taking out a number of us.... The other one that I can recall was in one of the CoD games where the Javelin was a weapon option. We had one map in particular (can't remember the name) where everyone like wise armed a grenade, but these were flashbangs. At 00:00:01 we all threw our grenades at a predetermined spot over a wall where the other team spawned, and 2 of our team would launch their Javelins right into the center of it. We'd get every player or nearly every a lot of the time. 3) Friday Night Fustoms Not misspelled, but intentional. Our clan had a few really good map / game creators that were also in the Cardis(sp?) Graphene group on B.net who made maps that would occasionally get added into the Halo 3 matchmaking rotation. Friday nights were our map / game testing night that we would help them sort out the bugs in their creations, and we played a TON other maps made by others as well. Fat Kid, Sumo, Duck Hunt,... It was just a lot of fun. We often had 2 or more groups running games of 16 at times.

My family and I conduct a yearly seance where we summon the spirits of Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde by chanting “wocca wocca wocca wocca wocca…” Once they have been summoned, the great feast begins!

              • Replay bloodborne around Halloween. Reply Sekiro during the summer. Replay DS3 during the fall. Try to get back into splatoon and animal crossing in June and July.

                • Way back when, most Sonic games had a Halloween themed level. Pumpkin Hill, Hang Castle, etc. I used to have a tradition of playing through all the Halloween levels every Halloween. Not so much anymore, though.
