So I’m into Metroid now

Recently beat Prime Remastered. Such a beautiful game on the switch, tho I do wish they did something to the artifact quest. What is it with GameCube games and endgame fetch quests (inb4 WindWaker)? Currently now playing Dread. Had to get a digital copy cuz I couldn’t find any physical at GameStop or Target. My god is movement buttery smooth, not to mention how satisfying it is to ~~mikiri~~ counter EMMI or bosses. Shout out to Kraid for letting me dump a ton of missiles into his mouth. I have NSO so I can play Fusion and I recently got Samus Return’s on my 3DS. Which games should I play next?

I haven't played a Metroid game since Prime 2: Echoes, but every one leading up to that point were fantastic, the first being why I desperately wanted the OG NES to begin with. Of those I've played, you can't go wrong. Just my opinion of course.

  • Prime was my favorite. The 2D games are really fun early on, but Samus is a bit too op at the end of the game for my tastes. Samus was still powerful in Prime, but not “infinite screw attack jump through all the enemies” powerful. Still, if you’re playing Metroid, you have to play Super Metroid. It’s one of the two founding games in the Metroidvania genre for a reason—it’s really really good.
