Ok, so I finally played a few matches of checkmate and I had an overall positive experience. Soo I thought I would give some feedback on it since I see it has huge potential in my opinion.
Positive:
-Less special on the field but consistent enough so I don't feel like double primary is a must. Specials feel "special".
-More primary fights.
-Way less ability spam.
Negative:
-Abilities take too long to get back. I feel like somewhere between normal crucible and checkmate could be better.
-Some primaries are now just simply better than others. Namely hand cannons and bows. Maybe 140 rpm would kill in 2 head and 2 body and 120 rpm 3 head? With bows maybe a reduction in bodyshot damage?
-Super recharge could be slightly better so you could more reliably get that one super instead of the last minute.
Overall I like the new gamemode and could see that becoming somewhat of a norm with some tweaks. The mode got me wondering how would the special system work in normal crucible. Same could be said about the ability tuning, while I think abilities are a bit too slow now, they still feel better than normal crucible and its ability spam. Maybe normal crucible could use a slow on its ability recharge times?
Thanks for reading!
