First Game of the Season
Matchmade against 3-Stack who have already been Flawless this week
Wasn't there supposed to be a "Practice Pool" for the first game of the week or am I missing something here. Generally confused
I know Card-Based MM is no longer a thing, but though MM was supposed to be different for the first couple of games (or at least for the very first Game)
Any PVP-savy Players wanna try and explain this to my -blam!- brain

I love seeing all the complainers, go ahead, add your precious sbmm into trials. Ideal win rate would be around 50%, please tell me how you plan on going flawless then? Luck is the only reason most Jim’s, Tim’s, blue collar busters go flawless and that’s thanks to the lovely random mm. Unless you get carried by someone with talent of course! Bad players have such a hard time using their brains🤷♂️

Edited by OtterTears: 8/28/2023 3:48:34 AMAs a competitive pvper I’d have to say this games matchmaking should have freelance. Why? Because no one uses their mics in destiny compared to other competitive pvp games. Vsing 3 stacks is a huge disadvantage in this game rather than another competitive game type setting. it’s not even funny. Even in low population competitive pvp game like halo people are calling out still. But also I would say destiny is the worst pvp experience I ever had and just grind out the armor through engrams. It’s basically just a thing for streamers because how boring the game is to stream and watch when just doing grinding quests.

Or your first game on a card is against players on their lighthouse game 🤡
-
If you look at the first person's card, even if they have gone flawless already, they're playing on a flawed card which will put them in the practice pool, not the challenger pool.
-
Freelance needs to come back and stay it helps filler the regular group and gives single players a better chance
-
Trials is set up just to let sweats farm casuals. That's all that mode is now days.
-
I agree, it's terrible

I am lucky if I get to around 3 wins without any losses and then, like a -blam!- hurricane, I just get totally stomped for three straight games. This whole thing about "total crapshoot" for matchmaking is starting to gnaw at me: it's definitely not the case. Frustrating, because I know I'm not a terrible player. I've had to simply wait out a game to get stomped and then reset my card...over and over and over again. Definitely the definition of insanity on my part.

Looks normal for me 🤔

MM on my screen literally says “card based MM” yet my second game/second loss on Friday was to a dude who already had 17 flawless for the week. In less than 24 hours.

Players to Bungie: “tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies…” But hey players have faith in them again after the showcase…
-
They don’t know what they are doing. It has been years of bad PvP, they don’t have a clue.
-
matchamking working as intented (totally garbage)
-
Horrible week in trials for sure
-
You start in the standard pool every weekend and when you lose then you drop into the practice pool.
-
I feel like it’s rigged.
-
Your 1st game isn’t practice pool. You must have a flawed card for that. Which mean you gotta 1st loose your mercy’s and gain a red ❌ on your card

Edited by Legacy: 8/28/2023 5:13:02 AMReality is the match making systems aren't ever going to be truly designed for the best possible PvP experience because the match making will always compete with bungies goal to keep you playing, keep you spending, and allow even people with connections that are run by a hamster on a wheel playing....because it's not about delivering the best possible experience it's about engagement. The sooner you just admit defeat and enjoy Destiny 2 for what it is not what it could be (just a good game not a great game) and then play better games like BG3 when you finish the non fomo content. The sooner you'll be in a better place with this game.
-
I don't really bother with trials it's boring to me and time consuming. Having to win 5 rounds and sometimes taking 9 or 10 rounds to finish a match.

Edited by Rainbine 9545: 8/28/2023 3:26:15 AMI mean, unless people are purposely farming people who have not been flawless I won’t understand how this happened I was playing in the flawed pool not actually expecting to fight anyone going for flawless, so you could imagine my surprise when I see a warlock wearing the Anubis helmet and it’s was glowing Edit: while I said flawed pool, I ment practice, just thought it was simpler to understand
-
Edited by BraddyBo: 8/27/2023 9:04:44 AMHaving a flawed post-flawless passage will put you back into the practice pool. Although when the population is very low like it still is even during new season launch, the pools get combined.
-
your first game was against two average players and one good one ....welcome to trials and the random matchmaking.
-
My first game this weekend was a solo run. VS a 3 stack of glowing players. When they won, they were granted access to the Lighthouse. Fantastic. 👍
-
Something felt better about this Trials than what I remember in the past, but the map sucks, so it was hard to tell.
-
Are you playing trio queue?
-
do people still believe bungie is taking their heads out of the sand when it comes to pvp ? also pvp savy players ? that made me laugh
