Destiny isn’t really a game to relax and play anymore
I don’t have much time to play video games, Destiny has always been my go to for just a fun few strikes or whatever the seasonal activity is. Season of the Seraph felt really good in difficulty. But with all of the difficulty changes it’s not a relaxing game to play anymore, primary weapons feel useless and you get killed super easily even with high resilience. Though it’s easier to have super powerful characters due to the new mod system and 3.0 subclasses, I don’t feel very powerful in game at all and completing content is starting to feel just like grinding through a bunch of bullet sponges while hiding behind cover.
I generally put the game down once the seasonal story runs its course, and pick it back up again once the new season comes out. But this is the first time I think I’ve considered putting down the game in the 3rd week of the season, as I’ve got no drive to spend 15-20min grinding through a seasonal battleground or even complete the post-campaign content.
Please take a look at primary damage, minor/major enemy health, or the light level differential as having it this hard all the time doesn’t make for a game to relax and play anymore.

I am going to play Cyberpunk and Zelda is coming. Destiny will have to wait. I don’t have Lightfall or seasons. Played some Nemuna and am completely satisfied not to play this game for a while. Nothing enticing. An exotic that was already nerfed. A joke of a game.

1 ReplyI don’t blame ya, especially this season has become a job to grind to get where the power you need to be. 1830 for legend difficulty that only the most sweatiest no-life’s can reach, but for normies and casuals would take like the final month of this season to reach. The only issue I have for this is legend Avalon.

Since that’s what you like to do and relax I don’t see the issue. The game was a pathetic joke in difficulty. The changes were needed.

I mean, I'm using my HEAVY LMG to deal with basic red bar ads ON PATROL because my primary doesn't do jack all. Hell, I can't even use Strand or Void to do anything because it keeps crashing my game, so there's that too." For reference, he's tried to solo the exotic mission for the triumph at leaat a dozen or so times and the game always crashes on the first boss.

Yah… never had the 2-7 hours required to complete most of the raids so I had just played this casually. Never was sure why except the game just felt fun to me even though I was always missing out on the REAL content (raiding). Now the game is just getting awful. I was playing Iron Banner at light 1805 and was getting two shot by hand cannons from people 1649-1780…. What the hell is light for and I though iron banner was light based!?!? Not to mention having 100 resilience doesn’t seem to mean crap now at all so why even bother. The PVE content seems to be more lazy as well. Lost Sector on legendary is terrible now unless you use the ultra lame Strand class…. Yes because watching my hunter do the floor exercises at the Olympics against Cabal is exactly what I wanted…. Your story was amazing but stupid streamer nonsense has washed away all semblance of a fun game. I remember a time when the streamers got the raid and the casuals got everything else now we have nothing and it makes me wish I had just uninstalled the game and never bought lightfall.

Most of the problem is the campaign is designed to be run with 2 or more on a team. Solo can be a real mess because of the never ending spawns and damage resistant Tormentors. You just play Run Chicken Run to stay alive.

1 ReplyI agree. I was grinding the Cabal drop area near the church yesterday and noticed a few Vandal yellow bars that aren't normally there. I hope that Bungle isn't planning to mess up the EDZ. I like sitting on the cliff and having a cup of coffee without being killed every ten seconds like on Neo-whats-it.

Yeah hoping this mid season balance pass makes primaries more than pea shooters in endgame PvE. I want to use something besides a pulse or smg for once and not be at a massive disadvantage.
