Titan strand super

Why do titans get another roaming super? Not counting bubble the only shutdown super we have is thunder crash. We already have 5 roaming supers, 4 of which are melee supers(burning maul, sentinel shield, fist of havoc and behemoth), so why give us another melee super when we already have so many to choose from? As it stands warlocks have 4 roaming supers(stormcaller, nova warp, dawnblade, and shadebinder), well of radiance, and 2 shutdown supers( nova bomb and chaos reach not counting well of radiance), and hunters have 3 roaming supers( golden gun, spectral blades, and arc staff), and 4 shutdown supers( gathering storm, tether, and blade barrage, and silence and squall). So the roaming super to shutdown super ratio with the added strand supers we have Titan: 6 roaming, 2 shutdown(counting bubble) Hunter: 4 roaming, and 4 shutdown Warlock: 4 roaming, 4 shutdown( counting well of radiance) I’m sure y’all can see the difference. Hunter and warlock get supers that correct the difference, while titan just gets another variation of fist of havoc. I know it’s too late to do anything about it but please, for gods sake, if you want to get us interested in a subclass, giving us a reskin of something we’ve had for 9 years isn’t the right way to do it

  • Actually, I think its gonna be pretty good. At first i thought: -blam!-, another roaming super? But after reading the blog post im quite positive, because, yes, its a roaming super, but it has also incredible dps potential. The light attack speed goes up for every hit for a maximum of three hits. ADDITIONALLY every hit charges up your heavy attack, which leaves immense implications. Whether its gonna be good or not depends on the amount of stacks you can get and how much it benefits the burst damage of the heavy attack. Its too early to judge, but this might be a great hybrid between one and done and roaming supers. To me it feels like spectral blades done right and im really looking forward to testing it out.

          • Titans are becoming obsolete. Past 2 years every exotic has been nerfed up to 3 times. Most are rubbish now. Titans have been deliberately crippled for light fall , think about it, lorellly exotic nerfed in to the ground. Resilience nerfed which is really a titan perk, baracade nerfed, restoration nerfed in to the ground, sunspots nerfed. Stasis unuseable. Then they give us yet another roaming supper wtf? Meanwhile Hunters have invisible off radar and vision, 3 non roaming supers and lightfall be 4. The mobity sprint is off the charts and the stasis insta kills ohh and Hunters can do sorta a thundercrash in lightfall plus they get armor that makes them tougher. Warlocks get a non roaming super and a tracking kill. Titans are and will be weak worthless and not with using in anything major. YOU REALLY SCR£W£D OVER TITANS BUNGIE. JUST DELETE THEM kill a dying guardian

            • It just feels like they have no idea where they want to take Titans and just keep playing it safe by reskinning Fists of Havoc. Incredibly underwhelmed by what I saw. Looks like my titans just going to be siding entirely with the light for another dlc cycle. :( Hunter and Warlock look badass though. Am hyped to try them out for something refreshing.

              • The problem stems from whatever genius decided to make Burning Maul a roaming Super. Each Light subclass across Titan, Hunter and Warlock has at least 2 super variants. One is roaming, the other is a burst (single use). Except for the Solar Titan. Because in forsaken, someone at Bungie decided to make the new super for the Solar Titan a roaming super, just like how Hammer of Sol is already. Also, turning Fist of Havoc into a roaming super in vanilla D2 was the start of this mess. That itself didn’t matter in the long run because of thundercrash being added, but it did start a trend in Bungie to start being less creative with new Titan supers. Glacial Quake is simply the shiver strike melee + the exclusive ground slam it has. Which is horrible for pvp, and does no damage in pve (unless the crystals are funneled, but that requires outside help) making it strictly ad clear. The Berserker super is starting to appear like the exact same lazy approach, recycling the melee ability to use in the super, and then adding a single new move as the heavy attack. It’s a bit too early to judge, but it feels like this will at least be pretty good in PvP with the ranged attack, and I guess it’ll serve its purpose as the thousandth way for Titans to clear ads in PvE.

              • I think of it as, would we give Hulk a power beam to shoot out his mouth?…no. Even though people would think it’s “aMaZiNg” that’s not how Hulk functions, neither do Titans.

                      • I’m a Warlock but I sympathise with Titans, I really do. From @GamesRadar, Bungie on Titan's core fantasy: "Titan mains, we love you. We do. But remember that we try to reinforce your core fantasy. And at some point, your guy's holding the fist on the cover of the game." Absolutely awful reasoning considering they’ve absolutely butchered class identity and by this logic Hunters should be using a gun and nothing else. Us warlocks might have “variety” but only 2 of them are actually viable supers and even then, one of them is purely support based (and supposedly looking to be nerfed soon) It’s painfully obvious how bias Bungie are towards Hunters and I’m tired of us all pretending it’s not the case. They get an absolute variety of viable supers and exotics, which usually have things that take months to be fixed to a degree of fairness. Nevermind not having to use specific exotics to make there subclasses even viable. They honestly may as well delete the other two classes tbh.

                          • It’s a little annoying, but it reminds me of dual blades from Monster Hunter so it gets a little leeway. Reading the blog post makes it sound actually really fun tough. Light attack seems like an amped shoulder charge (similar to old D1 Suncharge) that gets faster each time you use it and powers up a big-one off ranged attack that also stuns enemies. I would’ve preferred a one-off super though. I had a cool idea (this was from back when the subclass was still named Tyrant - which is a way cooler name btw): - Primal Roar - The Titan unleashes its energy in a raw and unfiltered state, rapidly severing everything around it. The resulting force creates a tidal wave of strand energy that rips apart the battlefield in front of you. It’s annoying that it looks like a reskinned Fist of Havoc though

                                • Any ideas of how they could have made this super better? A “get over here” MK chain was suggested on (terrible) Reddit. Pulling in enemies and aggressively knocking them back to their death. Sounds good. I had this roaming tornado idea but that wouldn’t make sense because this is strand not air.
