Stability needs to be able to be a viable counter to flinch if speced into.

Ive been testing with a good amount of high stability weapon rolls to see if they could counter the awful excessive flinch in game currently. What I found out is that stability is almost useless in some weapons. Archetypes like handcannons need a bit of an increase to battle high fire rate, high caliber weapons, if one decides to trade ofd range for stability. A 91 stability Austringer still couldnt really do much against ARs, Pulses and DMTs flinching every shot. Slugs have it the worst though, I have a 90 stability Inquisitor, I tried it out and guess what, that stat is useless on all weapons of said archetype. Bungie needs to look into this, if you wont change the map rotation, at least make specing into stuff beyond range viable. I still dont understand how pallet shotgun get overbuffed and slugs continue getting smacked left, right and center.

  • Surely Strength would make more sense? Stability is the counter to the energy of your gun.

  • Not all Stability is made equal.

    • You have to run high resilience and an unflinching mod as well.

    • Resiliance, stability, and unflinching mods provide a multiplicative bonus to flinch reduction. Spec into all 3 and flinch won't be a problem

      • Handcannons receive the lowest benefit from stability flinch resistance of all the primaries where as auto rifles receive the most. Trust me, auto rifles absolutely deserve it the most but hitting the maximum is next to impossible while it does next to nothing to help. They NEED to do something about flinch more intrinsically.

You need to spec into all 3 factors to gain the highest benefit. High resilience, high stability and 1-2 unflinching mods. I always run 100 res, I run somewhat high stability (without sacrificing too much range) and I ALWAYS have unflinching for each weapon in my loadout. I don’t find flinch to be a problem at all aside from sniping but snipers honestly shouldn’t be able to shoot through flinch anyway.

It’s a 3 tier investment and when done properly is a massive difference. High stability, resistance and unflinching mods is how you create high anti-flinch. I think cool guy and true vanguard both put out detailed videos explaining flinch and showing how to combat it.
