First of all, Bungie's matchmaking has been garbage since forever. They obviously don't care about fixing it any time soon.
I'm OK at PVP, and somehow every time I play, I get matched with teams of 3 (the typical hunter + Chaperone or sniper type of team), and my other two teammates suck really bad. Almost every time I end up at the top of the team with the most kills, and my teammates couldn't kill themselves jumping off of the cliff because they would miss.
The 3 or 4 times that I made it to the lighthouse, I did because I was playing freelance, and those matches were fun, felt more even, and even if I missed the lighthouse by one kill I knew that, if I tried again, there was a good chance I would make it to the lighthouse.
I know that there are some people with the dumb argument that having Freelance every week would make the numbers go down, I've heard that before, and every time I ask for proof, I get nothing.

I mean yeah but as I said its not perfect, plus its rare to find a one-man army that can full carry yo down 7 matches teams want you to have a good k/d or have a mic. and those that are just looking for a team its still not too much different than regular trials

this is getting extensive, freelance is there for solo players and to stop solo players from getting smacked with a 3 stack. LFGing helps, yeah, and while I don't have that much experience with PVPLFGs it can be just as unpredictable as matchmaking.

When it isn’t up, go bring a team. If lfg is just as unpredictable as matchmaking and you’re fine with matchmaking, then you should be fine with lfg.

It shouldn’t be always up. Freelance will be an occasional thing until the matchmaking is changed to prioritize solos against solos. As stated in an old TWAB. And 3 stack doesn’t mean 3 good players.

freelance splitting up the player base is a good thing because the solo players play freelance and the teams play normal trials, for the most part at least, there are always some gaps to fill for only 2 stacks. and no a 3 stack doesn't mean 3 good players, i once went 18 - 0 on a (can't remember if it was 5 or 6) stack in iron banner and that was probably the best ib game I ever had, but in trials, 3 players might not be good ones, but they have communication, and with no coms with your 2 randoms that can be the death of you. if matchmaking gives all-solo matches for solo players then yeah sure id be happy with freelance not always being there, but if your going for flawless with that then you still have a good chance to run into a 3 or 2 stack that crushes you in 7 games. plus Bungie hasn't had the smoothest history with matchmaking problems.

During freelance weeks, trying to play in the flawless pool in either playlist is a poor idea due to how low the population is. At that point in the week there are 8 different matchmaking pools for one gamemode. You can communicate with your stack. If they don’t want to communicate, find someone else. Any sort of team mode will be best with communication.
