If your light fades away at the last second for the boss fight it will send you back to checkpoint B and you will be locked out at the rally flag location. You will be unable to claim the reward or anything. Myself and two people killed the boss at the last possible second with a vortex grenade and when it was your light fades away to black screen we respawned at the rally flag with the mission progression being updated to end the communication.
