Bungie, with Void 3.0 coming, please look at Blink.

There's a good post on reddit that details Blink's reliance on Astrocyte Verse for it's usability. Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/sosh2v/i_really_hope_bungie_does_a_pass_over_blink_its/ I've been maining Blink for a couple months now, and while I really love the jump, it's usability in PvP is heavily reliant on AV, whereas it's just flat out unusable in PvE for platforming situations. Astrocyte Verse (AV) Blink should just be base Blink, with AV maybe improving in air accuracy, and/or improving blink recharge time, and/or even maybe apply volatile enemies surrounding you when you Blink within like a 6 or 5m range since we got this -blam!- Void 3.0 update. Just please touch Blink. It needs a buff so bad, I really love the playstyle but feel like my armor exotic choice is forced for me in order to play the way I want to.

  • In a recent interview the devs talked about how Blink is in the “perfect” spot in their eyes, as they are afraid that any kind of buff would make it too strong. I’m not against a blink buff, I’m just stating what the devs have said.

  • I think it'd be cool if blink was an icarus dash-like ability rather than taking up the ability to glide.

    • Bungie just needs to remove the no-HUD penalty and the stretching hitbox, and Blink'll be fine.

      Leaked actual patchnotes for witchqueen: Our data suggests that blink is too strong so added a 10s delay until blink starts to ensure a skillful use. Also the hitbox was strechted so that for 2s after blink activates it covets the map and all damage os redirected to you. To compensate for the mobility you now take 50 ÷ more damage. Freeze time was also reduced to 0.01s because -blam!- warlocks am I right? Fusionrifles recieve a 10÷ damage buff and +25 Range to all archetypes. To compensate charge time was increased by 1÷. Lorentz driver recieves +100 aimassist and now sucks all players no matter where they are on the map tomwards the implosion point and also respawns the guy you just killed right on top. After 3 succesful headshots it now also cleans your vault and after 5 headshots your livingroom. To compensate we changed the element to solar. Shoulder charge damage reduced by 10÷ across all classes and lunge range increased another 10m. Chaperone and Duality recieve +20 range and chaperone now no longer requires a kill to activate roadborn-perk. Removed in air accuracy to make them superior to legendary slugs. Chaperone Catalyst: Protector Headshots now grant an 200 hp Overshield and fully restore your health. +20 Aim assisst - Bungie #Sarkasm

    • Al it needs is immunity frames again, not this terrible hitbox stretch. We are no longer playing this game at 30fps (sorry old gen players). Blink was busted in D1 because the frames would limit player reticle speed so it was extremely difficult to track a blinking warlock or hunter. Thats not the case anymore, the game runs at 60fps now and it runs way higher on pc with pin point accuracy. Blink is no longer an ability players cant track with their reticle on either platform so the frame nerf should be reverted.

        • Yeah... give it to Hunters and Titans while you're at it. Seriously. Share the ❤️. I like blink and can platform decent with it. I can run Corrupted with blink. Granted there are some jumps that aren't possible - I'd still use it on Warlock, Titan and Hunter if I could.

              • I love blink too, but they will never buff it. It's too good in pve right now, and hunters don't like it in pvp. From what I've read from the devs over the years, we are lucky It's still in the game.

                • I think blink and av blink are fine other than the removed radar on base blink. I’m a av blink warlock main and I don’t want more people using it because it’s busted when you learn how to use it.

                  • Now I'm a filthy hunter main so I probably don't have the best opinion on this but here is how I would do it. Make blink have astrocytes range and CD with the helmet providing the weapon handling and radar buffs. The helmet could also slightly increase the range and decrease CD even further if it needs to. This would keep its usability factor as a jump without jumping twice and being left without anything for a good amount of time while the helmet takes the roll of making it more aggressive.
