BIRD, WEASEL and other connection-related errors

Hello, Since yesterday, I've been encountering LOADS of WEASEL, BIRD and other connection-related errors. This is happening so often that I can't do any strike, raid, crucible or gambit match without disconnecting at least once. On other games that also use quite a lot of connection like League of Legends, I've never encountered any issues but on Destiny, it's on a hourly basis. My connection is cabled and I have about 600mo/s of bandwidth. I can send a picture if necessary. Does anyone know a way to make it stop? It's genuinely frustating, to the point I'm considering leaving it for good. Cheers, Lazuli

  • Bungie's response to another player. Personally I did everything they advised and it didn't change anything. But it might work for you. Hello. The WEASEL error code is an all-encompassing error message that is usually an indicator that you are experiencing a general networking issue. However, this error can also show up if: A. You are Cross Saved and tried logging into two different platforms at the same time B. You were in an activity and a ban was placed on your account C. Your clan has special characters in its information or you have invites from clans that need to be removed You may want to review our WEASEL article on http://help.bungie.net for more information about this error code. Below are suggestions that may help with your issue: 1. Use a wired connection rather than Wi-Fi 2. Quit any program or turn off other devices that are streaming 3. Clear your console cache or, if on PC, verify the integrity of your game files. 4. Power cycle your internet router 5. Improve your latency and packet loss 6. Follow our Network Troubleshooting Guide for best optimizing your connection to Destiny. If issues persist, try our Advanced Steps Networking Guide for possible router solutions, such as enabling UPnP or changing your NAT type. 7. Enable IPV6 on your router to see if that helps
