Wtf Bungle, Give Scouts some love

Another sandbox update, new weapons and yet again the worst type of weapon to use in pvp are Scout rifles. Seriously bungie, getting 2 tapped by a fkn sidearm at range or instantly melted by the new pulse is ridiculous, add that to hand cannons like Igneous, Paledrome or now Eyesluna that never seem to miss shots at range. Wtf the is the point of having scouts in the game anymore when all you do is constantly -blam!- on them?

  • I mean most weapons need love bungie only really tweaks handcannons and shotguns, snipers need to be a bit more useful and not zoom in so much considering how small maps are. Scouts need to outrange handcannons but they don't. Subs need to kill faster at close range than handcannon but they don't. Trace rifles need to be worth using by being able to kill quickly because arm a shotgun can run at you take a full mag and not die. Fusions I'd say are alright at least a few are. Autos need to have similar mid range as handcannons and be able to compete because handcannon just drops them. Basically a handcannon does everything every other weapon doe about better. You want range handcannon has more than a scout. You want good mid range offense? Handcannon beats auto. You want good close range defense? Handcannon is better than a sub. You want to snipe people across map? Handcannon no need for snipers. You want to be able to jump around and be accurate? Handcannon does pulses job but better. It's a no brainer, a pulse is good depending on the pulse and map. Scouts there's only Moda and DMT. Or an explosive payload one. Autos no point using. Handcannon has more range than scouts, hits harder than a pulse, fires faster than an auto, does more damage than a sub, has more range than a sniper and a better zoom and field of view, reloads faster than nearly all of them is more manoeuvrable than all of them and accurate in the air. Is much easier to use, allows you to move faster, ads faster, has better hip fire accuracy. Yeah handcannons are meta for a reason and only those who know which ones and are skilled can use the other weapons and pop off.

  • You can use them if you aren’t stupid. One of my friends refuses to take off mods and almost never finished a game with less than the most kills in the lobby. Didn’t play like a passive loser either.

    • Really what dmt does should just be an innate physic of all scout rifles, repeated critical shots causing increased damage. What bungie fails to get is that they built the balance of scout rifles on "they should do less damage because they allow you to engage at range with relative safety" without considering that anyone engaging at range will be using a sniper that no scout can compete with and literally no part of the game is conducive to scout rifles, especially not "safety". Literally everything in this game is designed around close quarters engagements. The truth is they added bows to the game to avoid having to address the scout rifle problem.

    • My main issue with scouts currently is the amount of flinch they take, even with 2 unflinching mods it can still be excessive, this and on top of using a weapon type with higher zoom can make it a struggle sometimes. I would like to see a buff to precision frame scouts in pvp. 61 to the face and 41 to the body. High impacts should do 68 but increase body shot damage to 44. This makes the 1h+3b more forgiving. This also let's them kill in 5 body shots.

              I like how people are even discussing weapon effectiveness prospects. As if the PvP meta doesn’t revolve around special weapons being ran full-time, or as if the gunplay in general doesn’t need an overhaul.
