Good Armour Stats?

I've recently come back to the game and as expected my current knowledge about everything is pretty poor. My vault is full and I'm somewhat bringing myself to the sorting process, however I wanted to look for some advice first before I begin dismantling loads of items. Regarding armour, what is considered a good stat roll? Is there benchmarks I should be looking for in regards to minimum total stat points? Does each piece of armour (eg. helmet, chest...) have different standards as to what is classified as good or bad? If a helmet with a 60 total is considered good would that mean a chest piece with a 60 total is also good? I'm just trying to get a grasp of what I shouldn't even bother keeping regardless of the stats if I'm trying to get a decent overall high tier armour set. Sorry if this post is super confusing :)

  • Armor stats should be above 60. As for builds you are going to want 100 recovery, at least 5 resilience and 90-100 intellect. Mobility could be around 4-5 and you will be fine. Don’t invest any stat mods into grenades or melee, there are regular and cheaper mods or exotic weapons that will help you get those faster.

A good place to start is only gather gear with base 60 stats, next depending on your class build into their class specific stat. for example, im a warlock so i like to prioritize recovery, and then depending on what build i like the most i build up after that. For cruicible i like recovery and intellect being high but try to keep my resilience at a 6 (60) or 7(70) typically so i end up surviving more shots. i like to run with 4/5 mobility- 6/7 resilience - 10 recovery - any discipline - 10 intellect - any strength. stats for cruicible you should typically prioritize whatever can get you back in the fight or keep you in the fight the longest. So typically ill keep around or use any gear that can get that for me. For PvE though that's another story, sometimes i wont run max recovery but might look at resilience as a more appealing option, maybe discipline too if i want to grenade spam. So for good armor rolls just look for armor pieces that give you the best class ability stat and whatever plays into your playstyle. I personally look for armor pieces that give high stats in two specific stats i like, like recovery AND intellect. my typical armor pieces whether its a helmet or chest have 20 points or more in the stats i like while being base 60 so i know some other stats wont be too neglected. Also if you need help picking out what gear to rock check out this site https://d2armorpicker.com/#/ , it let me know combinations for what i should use without me knowing it was a good armor roll. Sorry if this is a little ranty or all over the place or has snip-its you dont care for lol, but respond with any further questions ill gladly clarify more!

All stats are useful thought the community will tell you to forsake resilience and throw everything in recovery and mobility. That build only works if you are a pro and insanely good in pvp low stats like that can hurt and in pve especially with supers that rely on resilience like bubble and well. The build many pros suggest does work but they never say the difficulty of playing with those stats ,I'm an aggressive player so anything lower than 70 and above would drastically affect my playstyle and low recovery is a no-no. 60 and above stats is optimal but 1-2 lower won't hurt as long as it don't impact what you are trying to build. the ttk in this game is fast so I don't recommend going lower than 50 res and definitely not lower than 30. Also stats are nice in a build but synergy is what is important. If im trying to spam shatter dive than why spec for intelligence and wear things that don't affect my grenade? If im trying to have infinite overshields as a titan why spec for the slide? I believe there is an app and website that allows for a more fine tune buildcraft because gathers all you armor and makes the stats you want based of everything you have. Don't copy the pros and try to incorporate their builds into your own most of them don't play by the number but their own skill most of what they do is unorthodox and all over the place or sacrifice too much but done to be more to their style. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/739534784199524456/906742055634628608/Counter_argument.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/739534784199524456/906742025938927656/Example_1.jpg Don't under spec https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/739534784199524456/906741940987494460/REALLY.jpg Don't over spec https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/739534784199524456/906743656688521276/bad_crap.jpg

      • don't look at the total. Just focus on the stats you want to build on. If you want max mobility/intellect. Look for armor with 20+ in those stats. Great armor to keep will have two different stats over 20. Then you can put mods on another stat. It's very simple to have maxed out stats in 2 different categories. Iron banner is a good way to obtain armor while its in rotation

      • Prioritize recovery and intellect because their mods are most expensive.
