Just your reminder that RNG raid exotics with no hard completion number award or bad luck protection are an exclusively bad reward mechanic because it does not benefit the player experience in any way, does not improve the raid in any way, and has nothing to do with ability or experience in any way.

It wouldn't be as bad if they weren't required for the seal. That's what people generally hate about the drop rates.

If I may, and this thought is not due to me trying or doing but happens a lot.. Are people with “completions” farming the final fight checkpoint? Are the majority of people starting from the beginning and doing the entire raid on each character? I ask because I know bungie has tied exotics to doing the complete activity and killing all yellow bars in the activity. I go back to the cloudstrike sniper where people were complaining it was not dropping but people were rushing through the activity right to the boss and farming said activity as fast as possible.. Then it was stated that skipping all the yellow bar mini bosses actually negatively impacted your chances. I also know that people do the same thing with raids. They will get a checkpoint and farm the checkpoint rather than do the entire raid on each character… You can even pick up checkpoints on lfg from people farming it.. Just food for thought or a question to be had. Players may be causing their own frustrations by skipping ahead in the activities. I may be way off.. nor am I defending anything.. just asking said question

Id rather have it as a random reward than just being handed it

It definitely benefits someone's player experience. You've probably just been identified by the game as someone who can play less and it won't matter. Some people need to be encouraged to play more and giving stuff to you doesn't help with that goal.

Maybe I'll get it this week... probably not, but I want to believe.
