Now with hand cannons and scouts feeling much better overall in the pve meta it’s becoming apparent that pulse rifles just aren’t all it in pve especially in the endgame. As someone who loves using outbreak or chattering bone it’s not fun seeing these weapons underperforming especially with their unique feel.
When it comes to buckshot shotguns however they are just dominated by slugs in any pve content and I definitely feel buckshots could use a damage increase to bosses and majors but also revive the perks that were killed thanks to auto loading like trench barrel.
Here is what I had in mind for potential buffs:
- all pulse rifles get a damage increase to everything in pve
- lightweight frame pulserifles need to be adjusted separately because they are definitely the most underwhelming in all activities (450 3 burst archetype like chattering bone)
- revert trench barrel nerf since auto loading isn’t in the game.
- increase buckshot damage to minors and majors to give them an edge as an ad clear and champion deterrent over slugs

I’ve always felt like pulses were bad in pve. I really can’t remember the last time I’ve used one. They’re one of my favorite weapon types too

Rapid fire pulses need some help. I have a Darkest Before with one for all and even with 35% bonus damage, it still feels weak.

Pellet shotguns have been down right horrible in PvE. Slugs do everything better and not by a little bit. Not disagreeing or agreeing with any statements here.

The only solution for each weapon to be viable is ditching the shadowkeep cancer - [b]champions[/b] and respective weapon mods !!!!!!

Also for Pulse Rifles can we get at least one or two new 4-burst pulse rifles added to the loot pool. Blast Furnace with max range was my favorite gun in Arrivals, and it was usable in pvp and pve!

I think the Outbreak exotic perk needs a little bit of love. The damage increase on consecutive hits feels a little bit too weak even with the catalyst

Anything can be viable in pve . There is no such thing as meta for it . There is a build for every weapon .

They could certainly use a handling boost, maybe a range boost in pve only, certainly not pvp. Damage wise I think they're OK, if we go buffing shotguns again we'll end up in a repeat of the ikelos trench meta and it will be op which will end in an inevitable nerf to the point they are useless.

Gonna be real, the only buff shottys should get is to revert the Full Auto nerf. It use to double firerate, they could easily change it to increase firerate by like 25%-40%. Then Pellet spread shottys should get a universal damage increase of 10-15%. They should also be give a new damage model making them the kings of close dps. I.E. if they are within 0-3m do 30% extra damage in PVE. 3.1-6m 15% and after 6-10m just 5% to help compensate for regular damage falloff. Pellets have spread so it literally counteracts that 5% at 10m because Pellets miss. As it is full choke removes the headshot multiplier so I mean it would work. As for Pulse Rifles I personally wish they have a rework. The only thing I would personally do is buff the PVE headshot damage by 10%. Then I would make headseeker work better by making it activate one body shot not 2. This would give them generally more viability as you can miss slightly more shots but makes them more forgiving but not so good they replace scouts.

Buff the dual loader ability as well, give it a slight reload speed buff

Sadly there is nearly no chance since u didnt provide some "proof" that those weaps are bad in pvp and you arent some youtube hero. Pulse rifles are bad for very long time and so far it looks like nothing will change

As someone who loves to use Outbreak Perfected, I would love to see a slight boost in damage.

Maybe Outbreak with the cat ist usable. But at first i need the cat :( I hope i get a chance in the future

I use pulse rifles a lot and they are fine in PvE.

Yeah would be fun to use some pulse rifles in PvE, ive got some decent rolls on some and would be nice to switch up the weapons we use for add clearing.

Always down for PvE weapons buffs. Tuning them to deal slightly more damage vs combatants would also solve a future issue of already strong weapons wreaking havoc in PvP. Plus, bungie has shown that tuning of that sort is something they're capable of doing, they've done it before a few times.

Whenever Rapid Fire Frame shotguns are buffed, Perfect Paradox should come back. I loved that gun man.

Autos/Pulse and Bucks are terrible in PvE right now. High Impact Fusions are also useless, when these get buffs balance would be alright

I knew something was off. I use Bygones for low light/no skill content and I noticed it took upwards of 3 to 4 bursts to down even basic canon fodder.

Pulse are fine in PvE and i love pulse since D1 but i'd rather use them for PvP. If there should be a buff, it should be the exotic ones except NTTE. Outbreak and Vigilance Wing needs a little range buff (both has 68) to compete with NTTE's 82 range (make it at least 77-79) and a massive range buff and mag to Bad Juju (46 range 27 mag) and make the range at least in the line of 60s and make the mag 33-36 just like other lightweight frames, and chunk off the stability from 79 to 70 to compensate with the buffs and lastly the Graviton Lance. Buff the RPM from 257 (i have OCD and i HATE that odd number) and make it 260-280. Outbreak would also be nicer if it's full auto and instead of outlaw it gets rapid hit

I think buckshot shotguns feel good and seem more present in most content. I really only see slugs in crucible and certain raid encounters. As for pulses, I mostly think the high impacts and aggressive need a damage boost. Higher rate of fire weapons always feel better in pve content.
