How super are Guardians supposed to be?
In the Canon just how superhuman physically are Guardians supposed to be relative to normal humans?
If their supers,class ability, grenade powers, and ghost enabled resurrection where all they had. Then in my mind they wouldn't be capable of their impossible victories.
Guardians having done what they have, to me only works if they are at least Captain America levels of superhuman from their initial resurrection and they just grow stronger over time

48 RepliesWithout our abilities we are not that powerful. Master chief could beat us in a fist fight. I mean zavala was dumb enough to charge a legionary without light and he almost got owned. This is why thr vangaurd should train the guardians to be proficient in hand to hand combat and actual firearms training similar, the goal should be to make them as good as navy seal operators without the need for light. With the light we are very powerful. We defeated oryx, I'm actually surprised we did considering how powerful he is in the lore. But the game had to dumb him down. In terms of how super we are. We'd still lose to people like Superman (no using kryptonite) or Captian Marvel. But would be able to beat Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Batman and Black Panther.

You're basically asking how a guardian would be without the light, but you still left their movement options in the pot so I'd feel like a guardian could still accomplish a great deal. Every guardian is different, somehow 1000 of them can die on crota, and one guy with sleeper can drop him and his oversoul. Depends on the guardian. I'd say they're stronger than captain America with the limits you've given.

We are able to punch enemies and kill them with ease when we are struck by claws and swords we survive. While having our light drained Gaul kicks us from an insane height and we survive. I believe we are godlike being with immense durability and raw strength as well

6 RepliesWe are relatively super... But considering that Zavala died continuously, Cayde half struggled with a Group of of low tier Scorn, and in general Vanguard nearly broken during the Red War. Saint 14 was about to die until we got to him remember. A Gaurdian known as a monster to Fallen. Fireteam of 9 Gaurdians all died to the Hive. We are strong.. like hell, killed Hive Gods. But we definitely aren't overly super strong. We shock the Vanguard with how we have done some things, which means we are a rare select few.

4 RepliesI think guardians are physically on par with normal people and their physicality just depends on how active they are. Like tower warlocks are probably pretty weak vs a warlock who is in active combat on a regular basis.

While Guardian capabilities and skills varies from person to person, the average skill level of a Guardian seems to be rather low due to the fact that dying doesn't really effect them much The average Guardian can easily be overwhelmed and tends to be more suitable for 1v10 situations But that's only pulling from cards like red war stories and that one warlock who gave crow a bottle of wine

Our armor and weapons also enhance our abilities beyond normal human levels and we can shift those enhancements at will (depending on our inventory). And Ghosts intentionally seek out remains that are candidates for resurrection so I’m assuming there’s a genetic or some other athletic quotient we have to meet in the first place. Think of us as Captain America, Iron Man and Dr. Strange combined. That’s a pretty powerful being. And as far as our feats of heroism and god-slaying, we’re only half the solution. Usually in a raid there is some new element or advantage added that previous fireteams never had, like the Aegis, or Crota’s sword, or some other item or knowledge that makes it possible to do what we do.

5 RepliesVery super. Captain America would get steamrolled by any decent Guardian. Physically speaking, Effrideet (a hunter, not really known for strength) was able to throw Saladin (in his several ton Titan armor) with absolute precision off a massive cliff. Wei Ning, the physically strongest guardian ever, could shake a mountain (microscopically) without even trying. Ability wise guardians are even more powerful. At Six Fronts and Twilight Gap the Fallen outnumbered guardians practically 1000 to 1, and guardians still won.
