Savathûn is scared of her Worm lol
Savathûn is in trouble because her Worm keeps wanting Sword-Logic ‘food’ while she’s wearing her Osiris suit.
That along with how she’s now an enemy of the Black Fleet makes me think we’re going to get help from the Pyramids to kill Savathûn (same as we got stasis to kill Eramis).
She’ll probably try to betray her Worm and the Sword-Logic (like the heretics of the Scarlet Swarm) — that’s why she learnt necromancy off of Nokris. She no longer worships the Darkness like Oryx did.
The Pyramids might make us their new ‘main man’ like Oryx once we kill Savathûn, as technically the Guardian will be the Taken King from killing all of the Hive Dynasty.
EDIT: in some final override dialogue between Mithrax and “Osiris”, Osiris ends the convo by saying “yes… the key to victory is in the light” meaning Savathûn thinks it can use the light or the traveler maybe?

1 ReplyI think she wants to show how powerful she is now to force us into a bargain. She knows she can't win a direct fight like invading the city or what oryx wanted to do. But she uses her schemes and wits to be powerful. She'll probably want help to get rid of her worm. I think the song is a death song. Anyone that hears it or recites it could die if savathun wanted them to. So she will use that as a "help me or humanity dies".

This is why what Savathun’s real goal is, is so unclear. She has been built up as an enemy. But her real goal seems to be getting rid of her work, and winning her freedom from the Devils Bargain she and her sisters made. Which means she could become a very- unlikely ally as much as she could be an enemy.

We unfortunately haven't killed all the hive...theres still zivu arath...which is the goddess of war. As long as theres conflict with the hive I doubt she will be out of the picture. I am sure savathun is terrified of her worm...realistically they all should be....I think the darkness knew, with the worm gods...same with calus...greed and gluttony as well as one tracked minds leads to nothing but self destruction...that is keeping a balance... too much light and you burn. Too much dark and it swallows you. Just look at the lore of the of the dark it's been doing this dance with the traveler for millions of years..honestly I think it's bored. (And I think so opinion here) It understands (unlike the traveler) that there has to be a balance between the destruction and creation..a toeing of a line and I believe stasis...and the pyramids...are testing humanity.. much like the idea of dregen.. the awoken would then be the closest beings to this concept...since they were there the last time the dark and traveler clashed directly.

Or...we get help from savathun to defeat the darkness. Also...getting rid of her worm means she can become the taken queen.

3 RepliesI actually think the opposite will happen. I think we’ll end up in an alliance with savathûn and help her break free of her worm in exchange for some sort of power. Mithrax says after an override mission that we should all come together to fight our true enemy, the darkness which is what I’ve been saying the whole time, although admittedly I’d never considered the Hive or Vex as potential allies. “Osiris” then interjects saying “you’d ally yourself with Savathûn?” Assuming Osiris is actually the witch queen in disguise, she now knows the possibility to work with us is potentially there. Savathûn wants free of her worm but beyond that, we have no idea what she wants, it’s possible that, when no longer a slave to sword logic, she could become an ally.

At some point in time her Worm cant be satisfied anymore and will kill her and she is keen to not let this happen. [spoiler]In the leaked documents from bungie it states that Savathun is Osiris and asks for our help to break said sword logic and against the darkness (next season with Mara breaking the curse in the dreaming City). I mean she is already helping us right now against Quira, which was basically AWOL for a long time before hand. In some armourpiece it also states that she wandered arround the City and grew fond of humanity. So it could be in the cards the attack on the last City is actually not Savathuns doing. [/spoiler] At the end the hive are just another species with Worm magic the darkness also tends to erradicate.

5 RepliesShe has been trying to get rid of her worm for thousands of year because while it offers power, it's a double edge sword. If you dont continue to grow stronger and feed your worm, then it will consume you. I think this is why the vex worshipped the worms but never introduced them into their mind fluid.

Also the hive are in a civil war. Between those who now directly worship the pyramids and those who still are loyal to savathun and Xivu Arath.
