Spoils are too inaccessible for solo players

Spoils of war are a great thing, a currency to buy raid weapons you've previously acquired from the end chests for different rolls and a means of acquiring old raid exotics. I like that it's a thing, but for solo players it's pretty inaccessible. Personally I don't have the time to get a raid team together(nor the social skills but that's my problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) and I'd suspect there are many other players who are in the same boat. It's not a huge deal and doesn't take away from the gameplay as a whole but it's an annoying hurdle for those of us who play casually or don't have time to coordinate a team. I've clocked over 3,700, according to xbox, and have only got my hands on 9 spoils of war in total. It's especially frustrating because some of the most powerful weapons in the entire game are locked behind spoils of war. *cough cough anarchy* And so I'll mention dungeons, they're amazing. I adore them because they can be soloed, a great design choice. I love that there are meaningful rewards I.e. emblems, other cosmetics, and great weapons to boot. The pinnacle of solo play, somewhere between a raid and a strike. I believe that in dugeons lies a solution to our little spoil problem, implement spoils of war into the reward pool for dungeon encounters. If Bungie has plans to shell out more dungeons I really hope they consider something like this. It allows solo players to get their hands of those sweet sweet raid exotics from seasons past. And if they take this into consideration I hope they add a chest system for dungeons too, where accumulated spoils can be spent. Just some food for thought. I wrote this down pretty quick so please excuse any grammar or spelling errors. I hope Bungie sees this and consider it in a future update, or a system like it. If you've read this far thank you for your time it's appreciated. ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟᵇʸᵉ

  • This was a problem when destiny first dropped 7 years ago, legendary shards and legendary energies was the only way to fully up grade your weapons and armour. And out side the vault of glass there was extremely limited ways to acquire the 9 enegeries for 1 price of armour. I’m Not saying make spoils drop everywhere. But up the amount or decrease the price from the kiosk.

If you don't have the time or social skills to raid, then I guess you don't really need the raid gear? Most of the content has matchmaking and is easy enough for solos to do without raid gear. I believe that Bungie expects us to make friends in the casual content, then use those contacts to do endgame content or join a clan? At least they give you a path to get old raid gear, but the way to earn it is to raid. You wouldn't have earned it before when it was tied to a raid, why do you think you deserve it now by not raiding? Dungeons aren't raids, they are easier. Why not ask for spoils from heroic public events? You really should try to make friends and raid, they aren't that hard and they are fun. You're a solo player in a game that's based around fireteams. Solos can succeed here, but many will need help still for a majority of endgame content. I mostly solo too, but I don't have any hang ups finding randoms on lfg to raid with, I've even beaten all the raids with lfg teams for my first completion.

Spent 200 spoils on Fatebringers, early, this week. All trash. All dismantled. This is what’s in it for you, even if you work hard to get a damned team together. None of it was ever worth it, at all. 23 total rolls; not one yet with firefly. The game doesn’t much appeal to me, anymore.
