In Defense of VoG

Unpopular opinion: the updated VoG is an evolved, more refined raid experience from the first. I don't really understand why people are so upset about the Orcale changes. Seriously, killing them in order is the bare minimum they could do to make it an actual mechanic- you basicially had to do that anyways in the original since ones that spawned before would detonate before ones that spawned after it. Now you have to coordinate and communicate, big deal. The only point in the original VoG where communication was absolutely necessary was calling out either Mars or Venus, and now, it's a proper raid experience to the standards of other raids. Killing oracles in order is the absolute bare minimum communication required; it even prompts you in the chat when one is killed so you know which one is next. I think what taints most of people's opinions on the matter is the rigid margin of error in contest mode. That's fine. Contest mode is supposed to be very difficult and only the most coordinated can accomplish it, but give it till after and the VoG will be better for the majority of the player base. Then, the adds mixed in within the oracles won't be as oppressive when goblins die to a single hand cannon shot and minotaurs topple over to a shotgun or two. TL:DR: Oracle changes are a good evolution of the original VoG that enforces communication for minimal mechanical changes, tainted by player frustration in contest mode due to add damage and tankiness.
