[b]III: Warlock Sessions – A D2 Short Story[/b] [spoiler]YAY! More adolescent Guardian DRAMA!! WOO-HOO!!![/spoiler] [i]-Earth, Guardian Academy-[/i] Rys Alexander Buern shifts into a standing tree pose, as his teacher instructed. In this pose, he feels the Light of the Traveler flowing through him like a roaring river. His eyes are closed, his brow furrowed in concentration. “The pride and joy of the Warlock is serenity and knowledge; harmony and wisdom,” his teacher says. “Your magic, powerful as it is, is an elegant tool, a graceful force for good. Is this understood?” “Yes, master,” the students in the courtyard reply. “Good. Battle wolf stance.” Rys moves from his peaceful pose to a low crouching one, his hands open and near his face. With some effort he restrains his Light from exploding from his palms. The instructor continues speaking. Then in the distance, between two pillars in the shade, he sees Tetra, standing at ease. She watches him with a tight face, but he can sense the smile beneath it. He smiles back. “Rysedian Buern,” the master cries near Rys' ear. He nearly jumps out of his robes. “Why are you smiling?” “I’m just happy to be here, master.” “Mmm. I’m sure you are. And you think it appropriate to smile strangely during my teachings?” “No, mas—” “Good! Then pair up with Granz and use your Solar abilities.” Inwardly, Rys groans. He hated Solar. Far too brutal for such a graceful and elegant class. With resignation, he mentally switched to Solar, and turned to face Granz, a hulking Warlock at least a head taller than him. He also used Stasis. Risking a glance behind him, he sees Tetra twirling a knife in her hands, her amusement clear on her face. Rys tries to scowl, but utterly fails and instead grins stupidly. [i]Traveler, she’s great…[/i] Right as Granz roars and fires orbs of ice at Rys' face. Of course, he would still have words with Tetra later; strong, manly Warlock words. If such a thing existed. [spoiler]Props to the dude who wrote about the Hunter having a Warlock girlfriend, his stories were funny and I thought of him often while writing this.[/spoiler]
