Raid Exotic Protection - A Couple Ideas On How I'd Do It!

I'd prefer the Triumph System

I'd prefer the Clear/Drop-Rate System

Here's an interesting idea I had on another thread about Raid Exotic drop protection. A lot of people suggest a flat number of 100 clears giving you the exotic (as opposed to the drop rate increasing each time you get a looted clear, which would work too), but it may be complicated for bungie to measure full clears of the raid, and they shouldn't give the exotic to people who only farm the boss. Here's my idea: All they'd have to do is set up a Triumph, something like this: "Dedicated Raider" Complete the entire Deep Stone Crypt 100 Times Crypt Security: 0/100 Atraks-1: 0/100 Descent: 0/100 Taniks, The Abomination: 0/100 ...And have the Triumph drop the exotic upon completion. That way they could 1.) Maintain the 3 run per week limit on raid loot, 2.) guarantee that people do each encounter 100 times so it adds up to 100 clears even if done out of order, and 3.) They could make it a secret triumph during contest mode to avoid spoilers. If they did opt for clear-based drop protection, here's what I'd suggest: As you do looted clears of the raid, your chance would increase, but the longer it takes to get the exotic, the higher the increase in drop chance. Initial Drop Rate: 1% Clears 1-6: +1% per clear Clears 7-9: +2% per clear Clears 10-12: +3% per clear Clears 13+: +(3+X)% per clear, where X is each looted clear from here on out That leads to the following drop rates of the exotic after each week: Week 1: 4% Week 2: 7% Week 3: 13% Week 4: 22% Week 5: 37% Week 6: 51% Week 7: 84% Week 8: Guaranteed Drop Note that I started the raid exotic with an initial drop rate of 9, because the system leads to a guaranteed drop by the end of Week 8/Clear 24 if you've run the raid on three characters every week. This would reward the hardcore players who run three characters, but still take longer for more casual players to earn. Most importantly, the idea behind this system is based more on the amount of time it takes to get the exotic than the number of clears. When it comes to raiding, 12 clears isn't a lot, but its important to remember that 12 looted clears takes a whole month due to the 3x per week lockout. Anywho, that was my little project for the night since I had nothing better to do. Let me know what you think! I'm leaving a poll to see which idea is more popular. Eye's up! EDIT: I noted this under a comment on the thread, but both of these methods could be implemented at the same time. That would give hardcore raiders a shot to get it early, while committed but time-restricted players would know it wouldn't take more than 8 weeks (assuming they have three characters).
