Console FoV has a Major Dilemma

The Problem: You said "Yes" to Cross-Play... So, If the next-gen consoles get a slider and are allowed to play along side old gen consoles, not only will they have FoV advantage, but FPS and load times too? FPS and load times doesn't necessarily impact gameplay of the individual player vs other players. But FoV definitely impacts this as it's literally how much you're able to see at any given instance. Brewing up Solutions: What matters most here is the FoV option being made available to all, not just a select population. Even if sacrificing other game aspects is necessary. FoV doesn't have as big of an impact as other video properties so long as the output resolution stays the same. Older consoles, especially Xbox One X and PS4 Pro should get FoV sliders no matter what as they have plenty of power to handle it, and even a FPS bump if possible. Let's say you give Xbox One X 60fps but you find it can't run 4K at 60 very good during intense scenes. So in settings we should be given the option to run 4K at 30 or 1440 at 60fps to solve that issue, which also gives the player the option to increase their gameplay experience to their liking. I'm positive my Xbox One X has the hardware power to handle at the very LEAST 1440p@60Hz with max FoV and default graphics. The bare minimum is that all consoles should receive FoV, not just next gen. The next gen players will have both awareness and frame rate advantages, nearly having PC level over anyone else. Causing the, "Rich get richer and Poor get poorer" problem. Giving old consoles FoV Slider would at least level that out somewhat. IF now only IF the FoV causes too much work on first gen Xbox and PS4 to display 1080 AND max FoV, then why not add settings like you've done with PC that say and require "if you choose higher FoV (like above 85) then you must downgrade video from 1080 to 720". But the player at least gets to choose FoV. This is very important. Not all PC players have KingPin builds or the latest Nvidia or AMD creation. Some are stuck with petty computers barely running 30fps on low graphics. But the settings you put in the game allow the player to adapt the game to their situation. All while having all options available. Do this with console. You simply can't give one generation such a big playing advantage over the other one like that. Best solution: Allowing game render quality (turn down shadow, texture etc) on console that have set weighted values the player can change (decrease only) to their liking (similar to PC) in order to keep a desired setting (largest output resolution and/or wider FoV). Of course console max settings would be the original default settings, no need to go beyond those. If graphics power is an issue, then being able to turn down one setting in order to get another setting would be the best possible solution and no one is a loser here because even if one thing is sacrificed, something else is gained according to the players liking. I would absolutely sacrifice game graphics quality if I could increase my FoV no questions asked. In a world where the general consensus on game FoV needs to be a minimum of 85-90, 72 on console FoV is tunnel vision, especially in CQC. By allowing one gen to have an actual gameplay advantage over another because they had more money is literally causing privileged advantage. Not very Bungie-like to do that. If R6S and Battlefield can easily have FoV, D2 can too. Do the right thing and make this option global even if some things have to be tweaked. Please and Thank You.
