I appear on the wall, my gaze magnifying the battle. "Isn't this just like them." I scan the battlefield for the Witch Queen, deciding I need a good ass-kicking and some practice.
And back up here again
Your fiery tendrils whip more spiders into ash and the remaining swarm begins to retreat from the flames!
-
it's alright
I dissipate the tendrils.
-
Did you leave the barrier up on the woman?
-
Yeah. Can't be too safe.
-
Save the screams and cries from the fog and the blowing winds, all goes quiet once more. Other than the woman in the shield, the civilians seem to have fled through a back door.
-
"Well isn't that nice for gratitude.", I remove the shield, and look at the women.
-
She suddenly jolts awake and looks around wide eyed
-
"Are you alright?"
-
Got called into work and only just got home
She grips her hand, "No, but thanks for saving me..." she looks around at the mess, then adds, "I'm going to lock myself in my appartment upstairs, until this all blows ov-" The woman falls silent as a trio of figures emerge from the fog. Civilians with pale skin covered in frost and glowing blue eyes, gripping makeshift weapons.
-
Oh it's alright! I'm perfectly fine with waiting a day or two as it IS a "megathread"
Dark metal flows into my hand and my sword forms, an angular dark blade with gleaming edges. "I see Not Nil needed enforcers?"
-
The wights turn to you and charge!
-

The Challenger’s Mark is an elegant, black-bladed sword made from Abyssialite. It’s main enchantment is to apply immense pressure to the space around the blade, effectively pulverizing anything it passes. It does, of course, hold the usual marks of Sylver’s work: It cannot be lost, will never dull, and will never break.

I activate the enchantment, and prepare to block a few attacks.
-
The first one swipes at you with a street sign, which shatters and staggers the wight. The second grabs your arm, you feel a wave of cold magic passing through you and your arm feels a bit numb!
-
I think, "Frosty!", as I try to smash their skull with the pommel of my blade.
-
It falls as the other recovers, and the third bonks you on the back of the head with a broomstick!
-
"Rude!", I smack it with the flat of my blade, or try to.
-
You succeed and it stumbles back, the other lowers its head and charges in an attempt to tackle you!
-
I explode into hellfire.
-
The one behind you falls back and the one ahead bursts into flames!
-
Moving here to make things easier
The body burns and you rise up. Many civilians are fleeing the fog, but you can't make out any details from within it.
-
Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to link a post otherwise I would have done so as you requested.
I decide to head deeper into the fog, keeping my magic at hand, but trying not to be trigger happy.
-
The temperature within immediately drops to below freezing and you see snow falling, wisps flying around in non existent winds. Ahead of you there's another shadowy figure, sobbing
-
I walk forward, keeping my magic powered up. "Hello?"

Edited by Unseelie Nil: 11/20/2020 7:27:26 PMYou see a woman standing among three bodies, a shard of glass gripped in her bloody hand. She turns to you with jerky, unnatural movements and tears streaming down her face, and raises the makeshift blade!
-
Abyssialite explodes into existence, and coats my arm into a metal sheath with a slightly curved blade on the end. I raise it to block it.
