I think too many folks use these posts to just advance their own stories.
"Name sits and does a thing, awaiting someone to talk to them so they can dump exposition."
Or they try to flip conversations to them instead.
"Hey how's it going? Oh that thing sure sounds like a thing, speaking of things, let me tell you about my thing!"
There ain't enough genuine conversations. Not enough mundane banter compared to the folks studying their ancient artifacts and super weapon schematics in a very loud, public location.
It just breaks immersion ya know? People come to bars to drink and chill, but here it's like half the folks are important NPCs with limited dialogue options to railroad you into accepting a quest.
Idk, just wanted to say a thing thats been on my mind for a bit, but in a silly way. Ima go back to being dead now.

Yes but my characters are too odd to warrant regular conversation

*Zeke walks in, notices your body laying on the floor, lifts your arm up, but it falls right back down.* "My Queen." *looks around* Too many people in here, I'd start performing CPR, but I'm afraid of being hit with some sort of assault case. Instead I start saying some revival spells, but to no avail. *pulls out a shaver, and plugs it in* "Sorry about this." *shaves your head* "This will make for a good toupee, lord knows I need it." *drops my hood down revealing, my bald dome* "For Nil." *pours shot of sambucca on your body, and walks back out the door*

To be fair, Blaze doesn’t make it super easy to have regular conversations very often; he kinda puts you in the spot to lead the way. I definitely hopped into the thread to lead my own stories on plenty, but I also came in plenty of times without anything much in particular to say and the conversations either wound up flat, or Blaze kinda ebbed me on to talk about my character’s goals anyway. >.< Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing—I still had a lot of fun whenever I stopped by!

I mean... that's kinda how real life is though innit? I guess most folks here have never actually been to a bar though come to think of it...

Ha, yeah, I suppose you have a point! I think a lot of our RP characters also just kind of shut off when they’re not in an RP—like they don’t really have any normal lives outside of their big adventures—which makes small talk a bit harder on top of that.

I have a question. You say you want more geniune conversations, yet then you ask for more mundane banter? I'm confused.
In my own defense, the schematic thing was only there because Blaze was the one who I invited to help make the thing.
It's...the same thing... Like what real people talk about. Give your character more personality aside from constantly chuckling workaholic.

Hm. What would Nil of Autumn, not Not Nil, but the original Nil of Autumn talk about? Just curious.
-
Yeah no I fully agree. It can get a bit annoying sometimes.

I just suck at talking altogether. I'm asperger's autistic after all.
