Exotic items are powerful but also have a unique history to them:
Thorn is a hand cannon twisted by Hive magic and was used in massacres and a symbol for guardians that would follow the same path as Dregen Yor. The chaperone was based on Amanda Holiday's design of her mothers shotgun.
Other exotics have been made for us or by us, such as touch of malice and ruinous effigy.
What I'm getting at is that when you see other players running around with them, they feel less unique, but what if we could build and rebuild our own exotic.
The idea: enegy weapon with the same stock and trigger, but we can build the rest in a menu. Sights depend on gun type which are: auto rifle, scout rifle, shotgun, fusion rifle, sniper rifle and grenade launcher.
Stats and perks will change upon reforging the gun but some perks can be chosen.
Unique trait: once a week a swappable champion mod can be added. Holding reload will change the mod from barrier to unstoppable, or unstoppable to overload, or overload to barrier etc.
Changeable designs for each option and you are allowed to use shaders.
This will allow for a players to feel unique and have a unique experience. Zavala could start the quest by giving us a rare material as a thank you and we have to take it to banshee, who will then ask we get kills with the different weapons types mentioned and kill 10 champions of each kind.
So what do you think?
