Seasonal antibarrier, overload, and unstoppable armor mods

Hear me out: make anti-champion mods armor mods instead of weapon mods. You could put them on elemental affinity armor that corresponds to weapon type (solar for smg an ar, void for scout and hand cannon, etc.) and whatever smg, ar or what-have-you you have equipped gets the perk. That way we could use exotics we like. Maybe some exotics would end up OP, but we'd at least got to use our favorite exotics in nightfalls. Some of those guns were hard for a 2nd tier player like me to get and it sucks that they mainly sit in my vault.

  • I think they should just give the weapons those capabilities without needing to equip a mod. If there are two of the mods for one weapon then you hold reload to switch between them.

      • Yea something needs to give. The way it is now it’s far too restrictive. The mods idea and the champion idea were good ones. They just need some reworking. Because currently I personally hate fighting champions because the only way to kill them is with a weapon specifically modded for them. And idk about you but fighting a barrier colossus with an smg is not much fun. His gun is way better than mine and he can shoot through his shield.

        • Just make the mods unlocked on the artifact. No need to apply them and then swap them out consistently on your favorite weapon depending on activity. It’s just an extra layer of bullshit and I’m so done with it.

        • They definitely need to do something. I’ve been using an unstoppable hand cannon, Erianas Vow, and a Sword with overload. My subclass is normally Arc with overload grenades. It’s just getting old using the same thing every nightfall. It is a very efficient load out, but I do miss using Outbreak Perfected, Loaded Question, Bad Juju, 1k, Risk Runner, Scout rifles,etc

            • How bout we do away with these play our way mechanics in general. No more making a bunch of mods the items to have in the game. I don't know though they have a revolving door working for them now so I don't see anything changing much in the game. The game being free to play has enough flow in the door to make up for those leaving in droves over their poor decisions so the money train should be doing just fine. It will be interesting over the next few weeks to see if they really want to change and fix this mess or just make it look like they are doing something.

            • This is the dumbest laziest mechanic introduced to destiny to just make harder grindy versions of the same modes while doing zero work and introducing zero innovation. Should have used the time to develop new loot for the looter shootet...instead another nightfall tier with a weapon mod slot for new mods just for that new difficulty tier. Innovation. At it's best

                  • Nah, they want to be able to control what weapons we use every season. They don't have to adjust weapon balance when we just have no choice but to use the weapons they tell us to use.

                      You're already restricted on armour mods due to insanely high costs for some, 5, 6 or 7 is too much for a reload or unflinching, the cost of any armour mod should be 4 max, seasonal buff mods 5. As for weapons anti-champion mods, the actual mods should be deleted and it instead just unlocks that ability across the board, so Unstoppable HC, every HC is now buffed with Unstoppable shots, this can easily rectify the issue of exotic weapons having anti champion capabilities, the only issue possible is having a weapon type with 2 abilities, but again that can be rectified by restricting you to only able to pick one ability per weapon type, ie anti barrier or overloaded.

                    • killing Champions is easy, but the downside is getting to the end of the Activity & having to fight the Boss with an Antibarrier sidearm, until Jimny the Thrall decides to drop some Heavy or Special ammo🙄

                    • You do realize that what you're looking for already exist in that game mode ? The lowest level of ordeal difficulty does not have any champion in it. So you can use your favorite exotic and feel OP.

                      • I saw someone post the idea of having the antibarrier, overload and unstoppable mods as part of the artifact each season. Seems like a very good idea, and as it's artifact based it's linked into the seasonal model. That way we could use whatever weapons and armour we wanted, without needing to add a specific mod to any of them.
