I want to make the game more enjoyable to play even when the game has no knew content and here's an idea
some of the things that keeps players to destiny is progression and weapons, but once you reach the endgame the progression and the loot grind starts to slow down. One thing that could fix that, while not getting in the way of casuals and helping the game while in content droughts is vendors. one of the area's that falls flat in destiny is the TOWER and i think the action to remove the vendors from the tower was a horrible idea. i think filling the tower with vendors and then giving the vendors their own progression systems would give players more reasons to play the game even when their is a content drought. The tower could be filled with faction vendors, weapon vendors, and more.
I think we should have more vendors, just with better progression and trade systems with the vendors. I feel like adding more forms of progression to the game would give hardcore players something to do without making casual players feel left out. Another thing you could add to that is making all the minor vendors use the same currency, but you have to level up in that specific vendor if you want their goods. So hardcore players have something to do as well as endgame and casuals can pick which ever vendor they want to level up in and still earn money for all the other vendors. Also, by factions and vendors, i meant permanent factions and vendors; but these ideas could also effect activities such as trials and Iron banner.
Examples of vendors
- factions
- weapon companies (Veist, Suros, Hakke, and etc.)
-new ideas (like shady vendors that would make it harder for you to level up one level in other vendors for interacting with them) just an idea
Also, one thing that i liked from D1 that can be expanded with these vendors is weaponsmith bounties. each vendor has a free common weapon that you can try out and comes with a bounty. Once you complete that bounty, you get a legendary version of that weapon from the vendor a week later. a way to improve it even more is to give the player the choice of three different versions of the weapon, so if there is a roll that you want you could get even more of a chance to get it.
D2 is starting to become less enjoyable and these are my thoughts on how to fix it for the long-term
