Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashes in Iran shortly after takeoff. No survivors.

Citizenship according to telegram channels: Iran - 71 Canada -73 Germany - 4 UK - 3 Sweden - 8 Afghanistan - 6 Ukraine - 2 Crew members - 13 (all Ukrainian) Iran blames the crash on a mechanical failure. A twitter video recorded the plane going down in a blazing fireball last night:https://mobile.twitter.com/isna_farsi/status/1214756225293979648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-3622253679933527364.ampproject.net%2F1912201827130%2Fframe.html It doesn't take a genius to figure out what actually brought the plane down though. Reports say the plane's transponder stopped working at 8,000 ft. That leaves only two options: it was destroyed or shut off by a pilot. Rest in peace to all the victims.

 • I heard about this around the same time I heard about Iran launching a bunch of rockets at Iraq bases. My first thought was that one of the many rockets they shot hit the plane. I haven't really read into the situation though so I'm not sure if the timing lines up on that. Whatever the cause, it's a tragedy.
