You like that armor set, to complete it all you need is the legs. You work hard to grind tokens and turn them in to get what?.... 2 helmets and 3 arms!
Iron Banner, Crucible, Vanguard…. Let us choose the reward. No more random engrams.
Take note from the Menagerie and Sundial, the rolls are still random. Simply let us treat the tokens like cash so we can buy the weapon or armor piece we want.
Some people don’t even like the activity, but will still grind for the loot. And when we dismantle loot we don’t want, give us the option to get some tokens back instead of legendary shards, so we can at least try again.
I'm not trying to remove grinding. There can be a balance between grinding and actually getting what you want for the time spent.
Thank you for listening to the community, respecting our time, and making the game less frustrating.

Edited by Gemini Trash: 12/31/2019 9:54:25 AMI agree with this honestly. As if you were looking for a job to earn some cash and got an offer for $500 a week only to find they meant to pay you in $500 worth of bologna. Who gives a f*ck at that point? I'm just moving on..

Cutting down on rng might be what this game needs
-
Well I remember when we actually could -blam!-ing buy gear with shards in D1
-
Piss tokens off all together as its a rubbish system and takes up inventory space ... Bring back the D1 ranking up system for the next installment of the franchise, if bungo are smart enough to salvage the franchise before then.
-
They could add a look preference to the collection s. Pick up to 3 rewards like bounties to track. This would increase drop rate by 20-80%
-
This was done in D1 for the most part. You’d rank up with a vendor and you’d be able to choose a package from them to get either weapons, armor or chroma

Edited by michael: 12/31/2019 1:57:05 AMThis is why I think Menagerie and Black Armory were so well done. Black armory. You pick a frame, do a couple short tasks, do a forge, and you get the weapon that you picked guaranteed. Only RNG is the perk roll. Menagerie. You put in the runes, do the activity and you get the reward you picked guaranteed. Only RNG is the perk roll. The worst moments in this game are grinding for a specific item and feeling like you will never get it because of the RNG. Turning in hundreds of IB tokens without any 60 stat roll armor. Doing dozens of reckoning runs without spare rations. Doing dreaming city week in and week out with no curated twilight oath or good retold tale. More activities need to be like Menagerie and Forges. Less like reckoning and iron banner. This game will be a lot more successful if people feel like their time spent grinding is worthwhile. Doing your 10th reckoning run in a row with no spare rations is what pushes people away, not encourage them to keep playing. I can sit down with 3 hours to play and tell myself if I spend it grinding a specific weapon from forges I will get at least 9 or 10 chances at a good roll on the specific weapon guaranteed, as opposed to if I sit down with 3 hours and choose to farm reckoning where I will be lucky if I get more than 3 spare rations in that time.
-
They said it was a mistake as people quickly got what they wanted and stopped playing
-
You can choose to grind or not to grind, but nothing else. What do you think this is, a game?
-
I’m not sure why they went away from getting to choose armour or weapons packages when you rank up. I can see why specific drops would be avoided but this would be fine.
-
No free handouts. Don't like rng, play a different game kiddo 👍
Take note from the Menagerie and Sundial, the rolls are still random. Simply let us treat the tokens like cash so we can buy the weapon or armor piece we want
That would break this game. The lootpool isn't deep enough to allow this without breaking the game.
Some people don’t even like the activity, but will still grind for the loot
I think this is the real problem. People who play games like this for the loot, and not for the enjoyment of playing the game itself, eventually hit this same wall.

Edited by Corrick II: 12/30/2019 2:46:17 PMBungie has to keep you grinding somehow, even if you end up hating them for it. All that matters is getting you hooked and keeping you coming back.

Edited by Bob Louie: 12/30/2019 4:58:49 AMWouldn’t mind getting a couple tokens back when dismantling but your practically askin for handouts
-
Get the tokens back so you can try again? LMAO! They may aswell let you design your own armour and weapons in that case.
-
Would love this, but it will never happen as it gives people something to grind for
