New Player- What is going on?
So I just recently started playing, and from a narrative standpoint, I can't follow a thing- and I'm not THAT stupid. I don't think.
I was following at first. Ghost wakes you up, takes you back to the city. You meet Zevala, and then he tells you to do a Vanguard Strike. Didn't know what that was, but followed his instructions. Then I was on some planet... I dunno which. Fighting guys I didn't know anything about, hunting some dude who made weapons for someone. I was mad at them for that? I guess? Then I had to do bounties in Strikes, so I joined another, and this time I was in some kinda haunted cave, fighting spooky bois. Now I'm getting sent to earth, which I thought the Tower was on? But I guess not? And I'm fighting the Fallen, who I at least know who they are from the first mission.
What's going on? Am I doing things out of order? I got a warning at the start to do First Light before anything else, but I'm super confused.

You should watc 4 hour long complete Destiny from Byf on youtube. Trust me he is THE lore master. Also be aware that Destiny has a lot of sub stories. For example the things that take place in Dreaming City are the consequences and sequel of D1 Taken King expansion which is the sequel to Dark Below dlc from D1. Destiny has a really interesting lore imo and it's one of the strong pointa of the game although the narrative is a bit like theDark Souls series, through items, dialogues etc

It’s destiny 2, sorry you don’t know what’s going on, this is the second game. If you played D1 they tell you more. Plus there was lore in Bungie.net that was in a card called the grimiore cards. I suggest my name is Byf if you really want history, he has a 4 hour YouTube video released a few days before D2 new light!

Yeah, I know, its not great. IMO Bungie should have given new players the opportunity to have a proper OG playthrough or use the current trip-skip.
