I actually prefer having it seperate from the game. This is so that I can play as normal while I wait, just keeping an eye on my phone/tablet. That's just my preference. I'm in a clan. If I want to do something, I can check the roster/my friend list and get a party going. Solo players might see it differently. Maybe a "noticeboard" type thing at the tower would work, or at every vendor in other planets.
