First impressions on the trailer, let alone its existence. WhiteWash, just another Anime/Live action adaption. It seems like a Kiddy/ Teen-Flick - Looking at the reviews now that it’s out: It is what I suspected. - Pass.

 • Regular viewers is the reason why Remakes or Low Effort movies exists. - Just like in gaming, plenty of Gamers willing to buy on Day-One, Pay for the season pass. They’re called: Whales. That is the mass majority, people who are impatient and through money at the Next Big Thing thanks to Marketed Hype. - In other words, Regular viewers like anything that gives them a cheap laugh, a cheap giggle, a cheap high. Yet. How many hidden gems out there, that have a high critic score that didn’t gain the popularity of the Regular viewers... One Example: Shaw Shank Redemption.

 • Why judge a movie based upon reviews.

 • Because the reviews are based on one flaw. All it takes is a theory to be proven, and the review is just one of many that prove that theory. = Teen Flick.

 • It's definitely for teens. If this film had come out when I was 15 I would have though it was the shit. Unfortunately I'm 20 now so I wasn't quite enthralled by it as I would've been back then, but my love of manga and Cyberpunk Dystopias meant I still really enjoyed it. I'm glad I didn't read any reviews of it before watching it myself.

 • Name one Good Anime/Live action Adaptation... Same as one Good Game/Live action Adaptation... - As long as Hollywood exists making these Adaptation, there will never be a Good story.

 •
Name one Good Anime/Live action Adaptation... Same as one Good Game/Live action Adaptation... - As long as Hollywood exists making these Adaptation, there will never be a Good story.
Spaceman is correct. It’s very accurate to the manga, and even more accurate to the anime adaptation, even the cheesy romance that everyone hates, that comes from the manga and the anime. I’d say the only concession that Hollywood made was turning down some of the gore in order to avoid an R-rating ( and attract a wider audience ), having said that, it’s still pretty violent.
There’s a scene 3/4 of the way through the movie where a flesh and blood human being gets sliced in half, and it definitely caught me off guard.
The only other complaint I can make is that it feels a little bit rushed, there’s an awful lot of character development and lore that they try to cram into 2 hours. Aside from those nit picks, I thought it was great. And for perspective, I HATED the Ghost in the Shell adaption with Scarlet Johansson. I am a huge anime fan and I have zero tolerance for half assed, bullshit Hollywood adaptations of my favorite manga’s and anime’s , I’m also against white washing ( I’m a man of color ). And I had zero issues with Alita: Battle Angel because it was done by talented people that love and respect the source material.

 • Nonetheless. It’s a Manga or Anime Adaptation into a movie. - As all comments and reviews suggest : It was rushed Trying to fit an entire manga or anime in a 2 hr movie... The flaw of any white wash Adaptation. - From the Last Airbender to Netflix’s Death Note. Of which, I did make a review = https://www.facebook.com/2033137243638272/posts/2036397466645583?sfns=mo As a fan of Death Note, I had no choice but to voice my complaints on how this anime was horribly turned into a live action movie... on Netflix.
