It’s the stupidest thing a game can have. It deflates the players enthusiasm to want to keep playing knowing that its totally dependent on luck. MAKE THE PLAYER EARN THE REWARD NOT GRIND THE SHIT OUT OF IT ONLY TO KEEP COMING UP SHORT EVERY TIME. For a game to maintain a players interest there has to be a sense of progression. Please require that ANY quest do not have a 100% RNG element to it.

[quote]For a game to maintain a players interest there has to be a sense of progression.[/quote] While I don't support RNG progression generally if you're unwilling to let rewards come as you play and must beg for them to be given to you faster (with the implicit threat that you'll switch to a different game that rewards you more frequently) the question should be asked whether you're playing for the gameplay or for the arbitrary stats.
