Destiny The Collection Expired DLC Codes

Hello. I'm about to purchase a brand new, sealed copy of "Destiny 1: The Collection". I already know that the DLC vouchers inside of all of those copies are expired because a friend of mine bought their copy back in September right before the expiration date later that month. WHY do they even have an expiration date? Anyway, if I buy this new copy and come to find out that all of the vouchers are indeed expired, will I be provided with brand new codes? Thank you.

Didn't know the DLC was a voucher code that could be redeemed and that would be expired, so I ordered an used copy of Destiny : The Collection off ebay this Christmas, since I never got to play The Taken King and Rise of Iron, and I was craving to revisit the old Destiny after getting back into the game with Forsaken. Got my copy today off the mail, only to find out the box is in terrible shape, the cd is damaged and cannot be played (which isn't a big deal since I have the original destiny CD) and then I check the vouchers I saw they were expired... I also immediately assumed they were already redeemed because honestly, why would anyone buy a copy of the game, open it , and not use the vouchers, especially someone sloppy enough to destroy the box and cd through neglect. I go to the PSN store, input the codes and lo and behold, I get to redeem both the DLCs and the Black Ghallahorn... Months after their expiry date and probably after they have been redeemed in the past by a previous buyer. My guess is that Bungie didn't want to get a lawsuit / get tons of refunds by people that buy the game past the expiration date and are unable to get the content advertised on the box and they decided to extend the date further than the expiration date. It's also possible they ended up reactivating old cd keys in the process , either intentionally or by mistake (then again, maybe the seller really never activated the vouchers in the first place, although I find it hard to believe). So yeah, don't take my word for it( could be a freak accident), but I'm guessing if you buy a sealed copy, the code should work no problem... At least it did for me one this old used, worn down copy I got for 15 bucks off ebay (and whose code was probably already reedemed before).
