I mean, gambit stats don't really matter and the gamemode is treated as a joke/fun mode. It's not a competitive mode so I don't treat it as such I rarely get demotivated but with gambit full of sweaties who punch players for mistakes and send hatemail, I become the laziest player you will meet. Usually focusing down bounties and doing nothing to benefit the team. Hell, I'll camp the portal if I have to. With friends I will give it my all but with randoms I could care less And if they really get pissy Feed invaders your deaths so that it heals the primeval :) There is no incentive. It's not a true comp mode. You don't lose glory for losing and even if you did...so what? You get the same rewards whether you win or lose, gambit stats are the last thing you should care about, and you get your daily powerful gear. I don't actually think that gambit should be a comp mode. Though when the drifter expansion comes out, I do think they should expand on it.

  • Its actually a competitive mode. Its says competitive when you select it. Power level matters.

Oh really? How else is it competitive? There are no unique rewards, you get the same gambit loot whether you win or lose. Breakneck and malfeasance don't require a lot of effort to obtain, just takes time and patience. Glory for gambit does not matter. You don't lose any for losing, and you don't gain anything for going up the ranks Gambit stats are like...the last thing people look at. Nobody really cares about gambit that much. If the only way it's competitive is the difference in light level and the fact that you can be temp banned, then i'm sorry but that isn't competitive. You may compete for the win, but there is no incentive to try.

  • The only difference between competitive and quick play is power level plays a part. Gambit is listed as competitive and power level plays a roll.

Is that it. Nobody worries about power level. Hell, "light level matters" is a qoute for almost anything in Destiny. That doesn't make it competitive, it just means get your light level up. And they don't even have to get their light level up. As I said before, with no incentive to win, anyone, low light or not, could lose and not feel bad about it Is there no other incentive to win gambit other than the seasonal quest objectives.

  • It is what it is man. I dont know what to tell you. highlight it on the destination map. Says Competitive. Gambit was a great idea, but they are poorly executing the challenges and daily bounties, that is very true. They wanted the pinnacle gun to be a grind but wanted anyone to get it. Trying it to wins would be bad because there are some players that just dont know how to play the game at all. But this also invites players to go afk and not complete objectives. I agree this is garbage. A real fix while keeping it a grind and forcing players to complete objectives would have been "Bank 2000 motes in a season". That would have been ideal. If players bank about 50 motes on average a game, that equates to 40 games. If players bank more motes because theyre good, they can complete this object much faster. If a player is bad, it will probably take them longer but they can still get it done. Personally I dont think bungie cares much about its player base. The nightfall exclusive drop rate speaks volumes to that. They do not have a safety net to ensure a player doesnt end up grinding indefinitely in a nightfall for one weapon to drop for weeks. Should be, "if you grind the nightfall and complete it 25 times, the drop rate is 100% guaranteed. Make it so the drop rate increases 4% every time you dont get the gun up to 25 matches of nightfall strike. See they dont -blam!-ing care. Ive done Strange Terrain this full last week, abut 9-10 completions a day, seen my clan mates get 3 - 4 Braytech Ospreys each while I get nothing. Its like my ip address is blocked from getting that gun.

Unfortunately for you, I do not use hand cannons, nor want them. You will get wins overtime regardless of how I play

  • I was being mostly sarcastic with my comment, and personally it matters not to me if you do or don't use HC's or want that gun (I'm just a collector), it was more the "I won't try with randoms" that I took issue with. And even then, the issue I took was.....minimal at best.
