You might need to update the battle.net app or Destiny 2. To confirm, you're pressing the Play button to launch the game? At what point does the error pop up?
You may want to perform a [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46501]scan and repair[/url] in the Battle.net app to see if that may help with your issue.

Getting the same problem here after the recent 12GB update, I was able to play it before.

The error pops up immediately after the "Pres Enter to Play" screen that shows after a few seconds of loading. I already tried the scan and repair. I tried removing battle.net directories in several folders such as %appdata% and %programdata% and then running the scan and repair again. Nothing needed repairing in either case. The game itself definitely was up to date. I checked that multiple times. I don't see why the battle.net app wouldn't be up to date, since it always updates automatically. I thought the error might occur because battle.net does not yet recognize that the game is in my collection, but it clearly is when I log onto battle.net in my browser. I am currently re-installing the game, although I don't expect that to work either. None of the similar issues I have encountered with other games/programs have ever been fixed this way, but I thought it was worth a try. Any other suggestions?

I have the same issue. I search again and again but Bungie answer the same thing everytime and when we tell them nothing work, they disappear.
