Sniper rifle flinch

  • You have to realize that flinch is 100% necessary to keep the game fair. I have quickly scanned through the previous comments and here are some of the arguements I have seen: "But shotguns have no drawbacks" Let's just assume this is true for a moment. First off, we are talking about sniping. Not the shotguns. Second, then we could talk about how we want to add drawbacks for the shotgun rather than making another nuisance like the shotgun for pvp. "I just want to have fun in a video game so why does it have to be so realistic" It is less about being realistic, and more about making sure that the sniper isn't too versatile for its own good. "The maps are too small" Okay. Then complain about map sizes. Don't conplain about something that keeps snipers from being annoying once again. This one was pretty funny when I saw it: "We are [b]GODKILLERS[/b]" *facepalm* The plot should not interfere with mechanics that keep the game fair and fun. Besides, if that is really your argument, you are a godkiller facing other godkillers. Bottom line is, flinch is really important. This isn't call of duty. Snipers were bot designed in this game for your 360-off-the-map-no-scopes-bro. It's a sniper.

  • Flinch is fine the problem is Maps are not Sniper friendly. Many also incorrectly try to trade blows with snipers, they are meant for first shot kills preferably on unaware targets, but can be face on capable in a skilled snipers hands. perk to reduce flinch and they are quite usable.

      • Maybe if you shot someone in the head first instead of trying to eat bullets and still land shots you’d never notice flinch. Snipers obviously aren’t for you.

        • So why is it that I can be nailing someone in the head nonstop and still get sniped? If anything they need more flinch. You shouldn’t be able to just stand there while getting hit and snipe someone. Sniping should only be for the element of surprise.

            • I seem to get killed by snipers while shooting them in the head. No buff needed.

            • It's annoying. There is 0 down side to shotguns now, just like in D1, while snipers take a massive disadvantage simply because you have to click on a head. Shotguns are once again ruining the game.

              • Flinch isn't the real problem, it's the fact that bullets don't go where the scope is pointed mid-flinch or while moving.

                  • Eh I think they would benefit from a buff to stability, especially high ROF snipers. Think Praedyth's Revenge levels. Getting flinched would still be punishing but if you could actually utilize the full ROF they'd be nicer to use.

                    • I agree, but this community absolutely hates snipers. They would much rather ape around all day and turn this into an FPS version of bumper cars with shotguns than to see sniping make a resurgence. Part of it is bungie’s fault for final round snipers and icebreaker metas, but part of this is this damn community’s resistance to growth because they’ve been so scarred from 4 years of nonstop nerfs and Cringe metas. Besides, even if you were to buff snipers you’ve still got the map design problems.

                      • Um no. Many times I out at least 2 bursts of my broadsword (which has high cal) and they still snipe me in the head. Most likely unflinching sniper aim but you don’t need less sniper flinch if that can happen already with unflinching

                        • One of my games on alter of flame I got 24 I seem to remember kills and I know for a fact I got a 12.0 efficiency most of this done with a snipe... Basically just practice and take the first shot you know the enemy can see that bright scope light right?
